Vintage Disc Wheel

Hello all!

Well just picked this up for almost nothing. I have no idea what kind it is or anything. So, I am looking to get some info about these. If it matters I am located in Krakow, Poland.

It is sure way to make your vintage bike look faster. Sorry, but I don't know anything about disk wheels except they look fast. Especially with a Michelin logo on them.

Sorry only joking. I've noticed a lot of ebay sellers of cool vintage bike parts are in Poland. So you're in the right place to build it up into a bike! The thing to do now is to buy a blue anodized Vitus 979 frame to put it in!

Don't get caught with the inflater without the bike, since it basically looks like a crack pipe.

I had a mid 90s falcon disc, it was great.

They use tubular style. I already have a Gios or a Faggin I can put this on, but I think the blue goes better with the Gios

I have seen a few of these Michelin branded disc wheels great looking mid 80's piece of bike history. Based on the oversized brand sponership logo this wheel likely came of a Team race bike. No idea who Michelin contracted to make the actual wheels

Now that's some cool sounding stuff. There was also some slick engineering innovation going on back then behind the iron curtain. I have a set of well machined "Aero" modified NR brake lever blades, done by a company called "Precision" that apparently made some for the Rossin teams, before Aero levers became commercially available. I've seen the Rossin versions on eBay for $$$ prices. It may be that the wheel was also made by a Polish company. I have one of the earliest HED disks, but it looks a little different, including the cut out for the valve stem, (though that is easily modified) I second the need for a J shaped inflation head. An old bike mounted type pump is sufficient, just don't make the mistake of buying tires with long valve stems. Guess how I know...
