New here and there a re some BEAUTIFUL bikes in here! Got into biking (everyday of my life) 5 years ago. Started with a 6ku (still have) and after a while was dying to build by own.

Here are a couple of my builds.

Carmen San Diego - This my first build from last year. With a 52t chainring, 16t cog, and 27" chrome Ukai rims she's an absolute monster to ride but I love the challenge and usually ride her when I want to take a longe ride with less stops. Take off succcckkkkks hahaha

Name (TBD) - Always wanted a technium. Picked one up 2 weeks ago and got to work. She's almost done and has some major look changes coming via wheels.

Since the quarantine I've hand polished (Only up to 3k sandpaper because I didn't have 5k & 8K) Stems, handlebars, and seatposts on almost all my biks. It's a lot easier and less time consuming than I thought but don't get me wrong it still time consuming.

Still figuring it out

Current set up. Was looking to change up stem/bar/seatpost/brake levers on this for this season, but covid-19. Using parts I have on hand in the meanwhile. Pic from ride yesterday.

Gave my old bike away last month, and brought out the nature boy frame from storage.

So far not bad but need to ride a bit more and tune then dig through my parts bin to see what i like better.

Not to keen on the purple and white.

New wheels, Velocity Deep V's laced to Origin8 hubs. EDIT: I just noticed the bike shop didn't mount my back tire with the valve stem and logos lined up... what an odd decision...

Sick saddle angle an choad stem. No foot retention is killer too. That bike must be super comfortable to ride.

Finally got a 6-bolt fixed cog for my late model Raleigh. Fun in the washes.

hahaha yea the angle.of the saddle is a sonabishhh to get level i may need longer screws plus concor light saddle is already a pain in the ass literally.

Not sure about "no foot retention" or what it means?

And the stem is blah... about to toss the x4 or thomson bmx on there if I keep this frame build.

But it is not the comfiest yet. It will be soon though.

Are both sides of the tire labels in the same position? Not long ago I bought a pair of tires where the labeling was off 180 degrees from each side of the tire. Which made the labels line up with the stems on one side of the bike, but not the other side. Just friggin' weird.

I've been eyeing the Raleigh Preston for some time. I like the bar change you made. I didn't realize how wide the frame was at the rear axle. Due to the disc brake, I assume?

Yeah, probably easiest to find 135mm disc hubs at that price point. Nice thing about the wheels is that the rims are easy to set up tubeless.

The original bars are pretty good, just a tad narrow for my taste, so I put on the Surly Open bars I already owned.

Pretty fun bike on flat land but it's pretty heavy, so a bit of a bummer on the hill climbs. I just couldn't say no to getting it on sale for $240.

The eccentric BB was a little tricky at first, but I finally got it figured out.

Quarantine SS project... Just waiting on a new chainbreaker to fit the chain. Might need a longer stem too.

My new SS project. Picked it up with a broken swingarm for $150 on Wednesday. That night I ordered a NOS swingarm for $25 off eBay. It arrived yesterday and this is where I'm at so far.

I built this from some parts in my shop. I used a Shimano CB-E100 coaster brake rear hub.

I've been considering a coaster brake build for a cruiser. This build is awesome and clean. Is it fun to ride? How is the coaster brake performance?

I'm interested to hear about that Shimano hub myself. My low end single speed on post 15 has a KT coaster brake hub. When riding, I'll use coaster brake only or front caliper only, or both for a panic stop which is rare. The coaster brake has certainly opened my eyes up to other coaster brake non-cantilever framed "cruisers".

The KT on my bike modulates surprisingly very well right up to a skid. I don't have hills around here, so I'm not going to wear it out on high speed downhill runs, that's for sure. I like how connected my feet feel to the bike, two steps away from a fixie maybe? Because if you pedal backwards, you're braking. There's a some slack from pedaling forward to backwards brake, but not too much.

The only thing I had to re-learn from childhood is that I prefer to brake with the left foot so that the right pedal is ready for starting with my right foot. Of course I can reverse that if stopping at a curbside, but the key for me is to brake with the opposite foot than the foot you plan to power away from a stop with.

Anyway, I'm now a coaster brake fan.

The bike is a blast to ride. So simple and easy. The brake works very well even with my 230lbs. It has decent modulation and will skid those Schwalbe Marathons if I want to. I bi I'll let the wheel from parts I had laying around. I bought the hub on eBay and had the spokes and rim from other builds. Where I live here in Cambodia is relatively flat and the small hills I have are easily handles buy the brake.

Finally cabled up the Klein. My initial plan was to part it out after fixing the swingarm. Only built it as a SS for the test ride. Now it's time to strip it down and part it out. Woot Woot.

Edit: It's a shame I have to sell it. It fits perfect and has the right gearing too.
