Blue Bikes opinions (Boston)
Tried a Blue Bike for the first time this week while I知 still shopping around for my own and was shocked at the weight and awkwardness of it. I got tired so much faster on it, too! Was thinking of using these when I only want to do a one-way trip, but now I知 not sure. Maybe it痴 better for exercise with the weight, though. Opinions?

They are definitely heavy and not so nimble. I think they could be plenty useful, if you've got realistic expectations... $99/yr is cheaper than your own bike would be to own and maintain, so if it's for less-than daily riding, maybe it's useful.
On the other hand, if will have your own bike, you'd probably prefer than one unless you're in need of a backup.
I don't mind this sort of heavy bike, I have a cargo bike and a lot of racking on my road bike. There seem to be some tricks to the Blue bikes - older models are sometimes still in service and not as good, the newer ones have a really cool continuously variable shifting system. They seem to be a good supplement to public transit for many people.
