I am the 50+ treasurer and can make it official. Just send me the early joining fee of $2500 and we'll be glad to have you participate as a full fledged member. Although I'm not sure if anyone here has quite sustained that status just yet but has qualified in other ways.........As DG has pointed out we can be bribed with pie and also words of encouragement are generally very well accepted here as well.

NO! You must have accumulated the required number of age credits, absolutely no exceptions.
Fortunately for you, however, I have some extra age credits that I'm willing to sell. Actually, I may have some from the 60's that I don't even remember so I'll never miss them.

This is relavent: todays Dilbert cartoon.
Dilbert: "Happy Birthday. What's it feel like to be 50?
Old Guy: "It's great! I've never felt better in my entire life."
Dilbert: "So it's sort of a delusional thing?"
Old Guy: "Yes. Luckily."
End of stroy.

I believe the Chinese start counting age from the moment of conception. Post a generic avatar and we'll never know.

"Those other guys are too healthy for me"
What makes you think we're not healthY?
Well, if you're forty-nine you're already being recruited by AARP, so that's close enough for this outfit. Welcome. Ride safe.

I'm glad to see this thread. I've been shy here, as I am merely 'pushing 50.'
I also have a Sequoia, though not a new one. It came as part of a screaming deal on a used Burley tandem; the price was so right, we figured 'why not?' I can hardly ride it; it feels like I'm a little out of control on a race horse.
Both the stoker seat on the tandem and the sequoia are already proudly sporting new Brooks saddles.

But when some young whippersnapper such as you starts talking about an "old body," then I have to think, if 49 yo is an "old body" what am I walking around in? So it gets me depressed. In order to avoid my depression, start thinking about your body as "young." Besides, it will make you feel better about yourself!
