I may have posted this one on this thread already, I picked it up earlier this year from my M-I-L's neighbor. 1995 Marin Eldridge Grade, needs some TLC but mostly original except for front rim ( on original hub ), saddle and seat post. It even has "Marin" bottle cages.
My latest MTB acquisitions, both also purchased from my M-I-L's neighbor about a month ago, 1990 Nishiki Ariel, original except for saddle, tires and that cool front splash guard.......
......and part of a 1986 Fuji Suncrest. It's looking sad but the Deroe XT Deer Head FD, brakes and thumb shifters are in great shape, I just wish it still had the Deer Head RD, I have one but the logo is completely rubbed off it. None of the wheels pictured belong to this bike. The frame and fork are damage free but the paint and decals are pretty bad, I haven't decided it's fate yet but I basically got this one for $5. Even without wheels, handlebars, etc. it "feels" kind of heavy. It looks to have a pretty long wheelbase too. IDK, maybe another drop bar gravel build.....

I don't really need another project but for $20 I couldn't pass this one up, 92 Trek Antelope 850, in sour grape, with Exage 400 LX components, the front wheel is a replacement Araya- otherwise fairly stock, The front tube needed patching and the shifting was rough both front and rear, fixed those items and just need to adjust the FD spacing and move the Saddle back and it will be just about right.
profile shot
as found with flat front tire
nasty stuff but it freed up the shifting, need to go back in with Tri flow

Mid- 80's High Sierra that began life with me as a 5.00 purchase of the frame and fork at a Frankenbike swap meet. Have ridden it more than all my other bikes combined.

My 'thing' with road bikes was '79-81 but for mountain bikes it was '94-96. I had a keen interest in AMP Research and now they are affordable. The B3, B4, and Mercedes branded B5 (with a carbon fiber kickstand!?)

Don't sell yourself short. Always thought I had Zero drawing ability, but 5 years ago, I made 2 screen doors for my son. Oldest grand daughter was a cheerleader at Oregon State U. (Their Beaver mascot inspired me) Years of perfecting my poorly executed projects made me into a mediocre to fair woodworker. So, referencing a magazine picture, I did several sketches, picked the best, cleaned up the outline, then enlarged it 3X or 4X on my printer, XFR that to a piece of Fir and it turned out surprisingly well. At least make a few attempts, you may surprise yourself. If not, some Lacquer thinner will remove all traces of enamel paint from the DR. If you take the challenge, post your results.

Thought I would ask the MTB crowd here for this info. The pedals that came on my 89 GT Kara... look rebuildable but plastic caps on the end have me worried. Has anyone rebuilt these or do the caps just get destroyed if attempted?
MTP 122 SR rat trap
Okay, went ahead and used a small jewelers screwdriver to pry the cap off. Nothing to it. Already cleaned and greased the first on. MTP 122 are rebuildable.

Use a plastic tool to pry them and you should be fine.

I've slowly been working on this Trek 930 for my daughter. It's come a long way from the day my neighbor "rolled" it into my driveway. I must say that it's an exceptionally smooth ride.

I hope you left most of the dirt in the driveway! Great job! I love my 96 930 Trek

I bought this Lotus Cherokee of marketplace today. I haven’t been able to find much on the internet except for a scan of a vintage brochure. I love the color, but not a fan of the chain stay mounted rear brakes.

If you make this Lotus a road cruiser, the chainstay brake will be quite powerful without the mud problem it had in the dirt. I concur, cool colours!

Down on the ground but when cutting, mounted upside down for the saw fest.
Just getting started on cutting the post out. It is 260mm down inside the tube. Hopefully not all of it is corroded solid to the frame. Maybe one slit, might be two in the works. Had to go get a longer sawzall blade and new handle for this project, can’t find the old handle!
