Combination of the injustice system and 'only' killing a bike rider. I don't have much hope for justice.

It will be interesting to find out what information is recovered from the second cell phone and phone records. The case will literally blow up if they find it was actually in use, or messages on that date were deleted.

Yet another "It was an accident, I didn't see him" and, being a judge, will be let off with a slap on the wrist at best.

There were apparently reports of erratic driving. They did have some coordination tests done at the scene of the accident. Apparently a blood alcohol test wasn't done.

A good commentary about various irregularities in the investigation

The judge was in a line of cars. The ones in front of her took adequate evasive action. She did not.

Help this stoopid old brother out here! All cyclists are entitled to the full lane of traffic and are responsible for abiding by vehicle laws. It is recommended that they ride on the right side of the road, but not necessary. So no matter what explanation is given for hitting a cyclist, it is bogus! As a driver of any vehicle you are responsible for being aware of the road, conditions, and all other vehicles around you. The Judge should have been a better driver. This should be a case of Vehicular manslaughter.

Very good indeed.
The Sheriff is disgusting.
With one witness saying the Judge was driving erratically and the fact she hide her work phone while openly turning over her personal phone, I have little doubt she was on the phone when she killed the cyclist.

DITTO!!!!

Several years ago. I was on the undivided portion of a six-lane arterial in a business district. When I stupidly, 'hugged the curb'. I paid for it. By getting knocked off the road. Thankfully, It was only a block away from the nearest firehouse. I didn't sustain any injuries. But I was definitely, not a 'happy camper'.

This is probably true, however being a judge who gets paid reasonably well will open up a civil case, and financially she's going to be in for a world of hurt.

Do I think she should be tried and found guilty for vehicular manslaughter? yes, but because she makes a lot of money it would be more beneficial to the deceased family members to be getting a financial settlement vs going to jail and her filing for bankruptcy and then the family members won't get squat.

Another sad case in point that the life of a cyclist is worth nothing!!!!! In almost all of these cases criminal courts DO NOTHING. Fortunately the families can resort to civil courts to get justice.
