Too many bikes
I have a garage full,I need to downsize,most if not all are 1990s,I thought this a good place to talk as the bikes have value to other bike lovers.

Not a lot of time tonight but my goal is to have one bike for every day use,ride to work during the week and do some trail riding at weekends, I have a Waterford frame to use for this,this would leave my giordana and my Jekyll unused.

2. Craigslist/Facebook Marketplace
3. This forum
4. Ebay. Must pack and ship at a low price. Buyers win almost all disputes. Lots of fees.
Sell to maximize value:
Just reverse the list above.
People think they can get Ebay prices on C/L. Not going to happen.

So you’re saying you have 3 bikes and that’s two too many? You are way too rational for this forum.
Unfortunately the market is very weak right now.
Keeping a spare/loaner bike around isn’t such a bad thing.
Parting out a bike often nets the most money, but at a high time cost.

I have 5 bikes,my wife has 4 my son has 3 plus parts from many others,what I want to do is buy a really nice set of wheels for one bike and finance it by selling some others,not here but that's the plan,the giordana is probably one of them,not sure what they are worth, I did email the maker but have not heard back.

If you commute I would keep the main bike and one more, so if there is an issue you are not dead in the water commuting.
Also if any of the bikes really do not fit, consider them for divestiture
here is what I do FWIW
I have 3 bike roles and have been able to keep to 3 bikes to meet the roles
1) "best" bike, commute on it (life is to short not to commute on a good bike), long weekend rides, etc currently an 85 Miyata team with 5800 105
2) A bike for my some time in future Eroica type ride and backup to #1 currently an 84 team miyata with a mix of period durace
3) upright, just hop on an ride errand bike i keep out on weekends.... currently 82 nishki that kinda looks like an "english 3 speed"
Wife has one bike.....cruiser....that is more my hope she will ride with me some day.
also have my son's BMX bike (no way am getting rid of "best christmas present ever" in hope that at somepoint in the future grandkids will ride)

What a cool family! I'd love to have my wife or daughters take some time and ride with me. With 9 bikes, some of them easily adjustable to their size, I'm forced to ride solo. They'd rather slouch around watching TV, anime, or playing some video game. And if I ask them, it's always a resounding "No!".
But, good luck selling your bikes. Just don't end up regretting having them sold.

I'm disappointed. A thread with a title of "Too many bikes", I expect pics of said bikes (preferably a drive-side shot of each individual bike, of course) so the BF community can better understand the plight of the OP. I'm disappointed, indeed.

Unless you're financially independent and live in a mansion, 30 bikes isn't a collection. It's a problem. You got to get the pile of bikes down to no more than maybe 12 tops. I would just cut about half the bikes out & advertise them all for sale cheap. And, give some away too.

To summarize, OP comes to a message forum filled with experts, says he wants to sell, and went to a manufacturer to get valuation on a nearly 30 year old bike, rejecting input from willing/able experts. Now, to solve the lack of wheels challenge, OP goes to a bike store, where folks in the know don't go to buy wheels. Okay, then.

Without being judged I will try to simply explain why I tried bike forum,for advice,simply,maybe someone has done what I am trying to do .I commute to work on my bike,love the freedom,need to know if I can put a bigger wheel on the Waterford frame,just wanted to bounce it off my buddy at the bike store.
