So, if it is a roll a month, then a 12 pack would be sufficient to stock up for a year.
If it is a couple of rolls a week, then skip the food and pile on the TP.

Perhaps rather than fighting for the last roll of TP on the shelf, it is time to figure out how to take care of one's needs without cutting down a forest.
Costco Toilet Paper

30 rolls
425 sheets per roll
12,750 sheets per case
20 sheets per crap
637.5 craps per case
45.5 craps per day

So a person that grabs 4 cases of TP
From Costco and has a family of 4
quarantined for the required 14 days would
need to crap collectively as a family 182
times per day to use the purchased amount
of TP at 20 sheets per crap.

I think we need to calm down on the TP panic.

Remember that women use TP after peeing too. If you get sick you'll be drinking as much fluid as possible.

Also that a lot of people were using the bathroom at work, and aren't going in to work currently, so need more at home.

Not saying this makes sense, just that it's not completely stupid.

Well, I use less paper for the toilet, as I fold the 2 sheets of paper twice, so I get 3 wipes out of 2 sheets. But I also blow my nose with toilet paper and use it to wipe down surfaces. Anyway, the toilet paper calculator says my 1.5 rolls will last 5 more days.

I just got home from shopping. Wow, what a change from a week ago.

I can imagine the stores are struggling. Fortunately I didn't see any signs of price gouging (although in some cases there was little left to gouge).

Disposable Gloves, Harbor Freight:

Toilet Paper, Winco

Not so effective rationing sign, Winco

Dry Pet Food Aisle, Winco

And Craigslist... for the despirate...

And blowing your nose, and getting the runs, and on and on. TP use while sick certainly seems to increase.

Brings up a question. If you get sick, but not bad enough to be hospitalized, it's self treatment at home. Drinking as much fluid as you can. I've got a ton of Nuun, it's got electrolytes, what plants crave. Electrolytes help you absorb the water. And pee a lot.

Any benefit to drinking more water and maybe electrolyte mix before you get sick?

For context, I live in one of the USA's epicenters for covid. I'm trying to be as safe as I can, but just today I had to go to the grocery store for coffee filters. We're at the point that I don't think grocery stores are safe. Which means I feel like it's only a matter of time for me.

Check out your local health nut store, most stores around here are sold out but spoke with a guy who operates on your schedule, he'd walked in an hour before and walked out with the 4 roll limit they allow right now. Said they had plenty in stock and it was expensive which for them is their usually price gouging and nothing extra for the conditions, guess unbleached recycled news print costs a lot these days with people buying less papers.
I just always like to have extra on hand, when the MIL would visit we would go though a 12 pack with no kids, just 3 adults, in 5 days. I don't know how she's surviving this.

Some water and a clothe towel will wipe many of you’re asses just saying quit being pusses and just deal with it. Sometimes things are going to suck this is one of those times!

In Finland, every pooper had a wash wand nearby... even the corner gas station. And really, not that difficult to retrofit... if only Americans would learn to wash, rather than wipe... ewwwww.
I saw a really funny take on American (western world) bathroom practices. A photo of an African kid and a (probably) US ) humanitarian worker. Kid is looking up at the woman and saying with an incredulous look "You s*** in your drinking water?"

In jail, good quality TP is a better currency than cigarettes.

BTW, newspapers make great TP if properly “prepared” ahead of time.

Living in earthquake country I always stock up on essentials, including dog and cat food. My pets appreciate the gesture. But if we start running low on supplies, I might be tempted to commandeer their supplies. I buy REALLY good dog and cat food.

Ask the cat what she thinks? She will tell you FU humans I deal with death everyday. In fact I inflict death and I like it. Thank goodness I have a low mice population. She is a loving cat just don’t piss her off lol.

I love espresso and prefer it to start the day. I kept that up as long as possible, but knowing how this thing is spreading in my community, it got to the point that I stopped feeling safe buying espresso.

I really want to support my local coffee shop though. During a bad injury, they bright a latte and pastry to my door every day for a month, and never charged me.

Do they have an on-line presence and offer gift cards? If so, might consider purchasing one and not using it. Just a thought.

They're pretty small. When I go by there's usually no one inside. Probably ok to walk in and ask the manager, she makes the espresso half the time too.

One thing that's been bothering me. The guy ahead of you had C-19, he takes his card out to pay, sticks it in the machine, now there are virus particles in there, you use it next, and your card probably has some virus on it. They're saying it can live for days on plastic I think. They're cleaning the terminal between uses but not the card slot. In normal times this would be crazy paranoia, but Italy doesn't have enough crematoriums and it's not crazy anymore to think about how a virus could get into your body.

Good point. Probably best to wipe it down after use? Maybe carry some of those lens cleaning wipes in packets? I think they have enough alcohol to do the trick.
