Platform pedals on your Hybrid, please share pics!
Doing some more trail riding/mixed terrain of late and realizing the oem pedals on my Roam are not very confidence inspiring and have some slip that cost me some skin.
Looking for ideas and feedback on some platform pedals and always good to get some visualization on what they look like on a bike.

MKS Lambda/Rivendell Grip Kings. Large platform, very grippy, great for riding in sneakers. Throw on some 510 shoes and it's like you are glued in. The MKS labelled version is cheaper than the Riv version, same pedal though.

I bought the black version of these for my son's bike. These are nice, light and strong:

I have Raceface Chesters on two of my bikes. Good grip, sturdy, inexpensive and come in many colors.

The Black ones are so far on the shortlist however, they have a matte look and of course one of the lightest options for very reasonable price.

Saints are great looking pedals for sure!
So far compiled a list that i think would look great, though they range across the $ spectrum.
Metal body:
DMR Vault Brendog (matte black)
Chromag Contact (black)
Spank Spike
DMR V12 (lemon lime)
SixPack Racing Menace (neon yellow, thin design)
Shimano Saints
Composite body:
Race Face Chester ( black or purple)
SixPack Racing Vegas( black or neon yellow
Wellgo MG2 (black)

If I were buying them today, I would probably pick the VP 015 instead for the all-the-way through the pedal axle support. I tend to mount the bike by stepping on the left pedal to start forward motion and then swing my right leg over the seat. Still not bad for $45, I guess.

Nashbar Downtown Platforms
https://www.bikenashbar.com/cycling/...-pedals-nb-dpp
(Don't have a close up pic handy of them on the bike. These cropped out of larger pics is what I've got)
They are lsited at $18 on Nashbar today and that's the most expensive I've ever seen them. They are usually on sale (I know...a sale on Nashbar...what are the odds? ) for around $12.
They spin freely. Maybe not as well as a $75 pedal, but pretty darn good. And for under $20.
The surface is curved so it holds your foot well. And the grippy stuff isn't like a cheap sandpaper sticker that will wear off. It's deep embedded hard plastic stuff that's very grippy.
The surface is very large so it's easy to keep your foot on it.
I've had these for about 9 months and I've been very happy with them. They grip really well when wet. The only time they lose grip is when they are caked in mud. You'll need a pedal with pins for that. But those will tear up the soles of your shoes and hurt like the dickens when you smash your shins into them. So there are tradeoffs.

No close-up pics, but I use some inexpensive Wellgos pedals. Like someone else mentioned, they're heavy but solid - my marin is the 3rd bike they've been on and they have a few thousand miles on them with no isses.

260g is damn impressive for an alloy set.
Thin profile
Pin profile smoother than others.
Reviews say they take a beating, and $60ish online
price is very lucrative compared to the other mid to higher end options costing much more.
