I can't believe they still hold eating competitions. It's NOT a good or healthy idea IMO.

But you have to remember that they weren't originally Frosted Flakes. They were Sugar Frosted Flakes. There were also Sugar Smacks and Sugar Corn Pops. When concern over too much sugar in children's diets started mounting, Sugar Smacks became Honey Smacks and Sugar was dropped from Sugar Frosted Flakes and Sugar Corn Pops.
BTW...Interesting bit of trivia about Frosted Flakes. The original voice of Tony the Tiger was the same guy who sings "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch!" in the animated film. Also, the guy who was the original voice of the Lucky Charms mascot was not Irish at all and grew up on Staten Island.

They were a rarity. Loved when we got Cap'N Crunch with Crunch Berries. Mostly we had Life, Cheerios and Wheaties. I'd put so much sugar on it that it all wouldn't dissolve those last few spoonfuls of milk were heaven.

Just curious, but what kind of square footage are we talking? Is there a standard McMansion template in your area? In mine, it's what I would call "variations on a cube." I would assume that they're maximizing square footage on small-ish city lots, but damn are they boring.

Back in the fifties, in rural northern Ohio, we had oatmeal for breakfast. And cocoa with toast strips dipped in. There was a sugared oatmeal product called Maypo, that I bugged my parents into buying. It didn't make the cut. I think my younger sisters ate Sugar Snaps and the like in the early sixties.
In the rush to book a room for the night, yesterday afternoon(we were on an unfamiliar computer at a friend's house), we accidently got one with a shared bath. It's been awhile, for both of us. But we're hearty folk, and young for our age.

On my ride:
- I saw one of the worst bib designs ever - I think that they were Castelli, but the important bit is that there were three seams that met on the backside - one on either side, angling slightly down from hip, joining together and continuing down the asscrack. Very evocative of a thong and just wrong, wr-wr-wr-wrong.
- A FOLDING FAT E-BIKE!!!
- I somehow nabbed a KOM on a half-mile stretch - wooo! I'm big time.

We didn't get sugary cereals in my house, so it was always a treat when we'd go on camping trips and my parents would get the variety pack of individual cereals, and sometimes I could beat my older sisters before they claimed the Frosted Flakes.
Instead we usually got something boring like plain cheerios or raisin bran. Which I would bury underneath a mountain of table sugar because that was somehow OK. But at least it wasn't sugary cereal!

Edit: I looked it up and found a generic to have both corn syrup and refined sugar. Frosted Flakes lists only refined sugar as a sweetening ingredient. Go figure.
