I have been spinning a lot of 40 year old vinyl lately with a great cartridge (Grado G+ and scored a brand new stylus on ebay a couple of years ago which was totally awesome).
Spawn1 is home from college and he instantly remarked that it sounds WAY better on vinyl than CDs. Even with my old ears (Racing age is 59!), vinyl LPs wins hands down over CDs. I pity the people that think that what they get over iTunes is even listenable. Everything on my iPod sounds like crap. But sometimes crap is all you can get and for those times it is OK.
Also reading "Waging Heavy Peace" that I got for Christmas/Festivus from my better half. Neil Young agrees with me about the horrible sonic experience that today's youth hears. No wonder music has gone to hell.
Now "Get off my lawn". And get of of Mr. Young's lawn as well.
And for TMonk, I have been spinning a lot of first issue Miles lately on vinyl. I feel blessed to have it in my possession. Genius stuff.
