SR saved from fixie doom!

First of all I hate tubulars. This SR popped up on a local sale ad, since it was crazy cheap I made the drive to check it out. What was there was really nice, Superbe cranks, brakes and levers. Paint was really dusty but I could tell it was nice. But then I noticed the Mavic tubulars, crap. It’s going to take awhile to clean off the excess glue.

A proper rescue.
SR is a brand that just did not have much market share in Southern California.

With the proper set-up that would be a very nice FG road bike.....

I have an 83/84 Semi Pro. Same concept as, and quality is on par with the Centurion, Lotus and Univega brands.

You hate tubs??.....If those are at least Mavic GL330s, I'd kill for those!!....
If the glue is really old, they should clean up in literally minutes just using a wire brush head on a Dremel....

I wouldn't mind having a another set of fixie rims on hand, and I'm ok with tubies. Let me know if you want to sell them cheap.

Assuming one is into that sort of thing ... .

I like gears way too much to consider giving them up.

Thanks for your service towards our mutual cause Sloar. I hope it wasn't too much of a blow to your wallet, or relationships with your loved ones. I really gravitate to the not-often-seen brands... why, you ask... I don't really know. To be different I guess, or maybe, because they aren't as well documented, and I feel some weird and not-quite-even-understood-by-myself draw to preserve and document them, for history's sake.

You don't have to remove the old tubular glue.
