my only hope is that the olympics re-directs everyone's focus back to actual riding.

macaframa at least looks good. but i just can't get into watching dudes ride down hills in california. i ride up and down hills all day long. and it bores me.

yeah, i should amend my statement a bit. i do enjoy watching racing (most of the time, but i'm not always in the mood), but racing carries a different energy than a freestyle video.
i'm not saying all this freestyle stuff is lame. while i may not enjoy it right now, that's not to say that in a years time the "sport" will have grown and it may be fun to watch. who knows...
i just get bored watching dudes ride down hills in another city.

It seems to me that if "freestyle" tricks are going to go anywhere the bike will have to evolve (probably into a BMX) to allow for a more interesting variety of tricks. Riding backwards, barspins and skids are not very interesting, honestly. Riding down hills is fun but even less interesting to watch.

I just don't understand why these guys put their obscenely expensive track wheelsets through this sort of punishment. I mean, I think that disks and HED 3s look as cool as the next guy, but why would you even risk messing them up doing barspins on a curb for some cheesy-ass video?
