'70s Schwinn Super Sport: Makers Mark on Bottom Bracket Shell

I noticed a small star on my '72 KL SS's BB shell, and also what looks like an anchor on a '73 Orange SS on eBay ... my '72 OG SS seems to have a diagonal figure eight shape? Any idea what these mean? The '73 seems to be missing the alphanumeric stamped info (what does FM 32 or FM 23 mean?).

@Metacortex will know more than anybody about this minute trivia, but even he may not know specifically who's symbol was whose. Also possibly an inspector's mark rather than the builder's...or maybe not...my now sold Sport Limited had a "horse's head" stamp.
(Found a pic)

According to Waterford the star symbols were inspection marks used during the production process: Waterford - Custom Bicycles and Frames

So far I've recorded several different versions of these stamps, including a 6-pointed star, horsehead, anchor, mushroom, pistol, flower, infinity "8"? and more.

I've also seen the "FMxx" and also several "V.13" stamps but so far don't know what they mean, possibly a mark from the supplier of the shell?

Maybe because, after putting 25 lbs. of steel parts on it, it was heavy as an anchor!
