Which Bike?

Hi,
I'm trying to buy a bike this week. Don't have big budget.
Can anyone recommend either the Raleigh Hybrid Urban 01 or Giant Expression?
What's the main difference?
Can I use these bikes for triathlons (I'm new to racing)?

Thanks all.

If you just want to get to the finish line, these bikes will get you there. If you intend to be remotely competitive, these bikes are unsuitable for a triathlon. You want something with road-bike geometry (more bent over and aerodynamic).

What do you want to use the bike for, besides triathlons? The Expression has some usefull accessories for commuting (rack, fenders, chainguard), but its also got uneccessary seatpost and fork suspension (REALLY bad for racing). The Raleigh is a very simple and straighforward, no pointless suspension, but no accessories. However, its cheaper and you can buy the accessories later.

thanks

Thanks for the info.

I need the bike for daily commute to work through Dublin city.
The 2 bikes are for sale in different shops with almost same price!!!!
Maybe I should be expecting a much cheaper price on the Raleigh?

Other option is much more expensive Ridgeback, but there's a 200 Euro price jump up to this one.

Cheers.

Actually I made a mistake, the bottom line Expression has no suspension at all. If they are the same price, I would definitely go for the Giant. Its all set up for commuting. Just test ride it first to make sure it feels right for you.
