Nice Centurion, kaydub. The quality of paint on Centurions from this era was excellent. Yours is no exception. Not sure about the extreme saddle angle (a strain on the arms?), but otherwise a very nice example.

Thanks! I am going to relax the seat angle a bit, it's great in the drops but not so much on the tops. Haven't been able to ride much lately so I'm still playing with the fit

The 1984 Comp TA in my fleet now has a stablemate, an Ironman Expert I picked up in Toledo yesterday. Bought it without a saddle and sans tires/tubes, to get the price to a manageable number under $300, full GPX group. A few frame scratches, but absolutely wear free wheel rims. The Comp TA has a Shimano 600 tricolor group.
Haven't done a side by side yet, but did notice 27" on the Comp TA and 700C on the Ironman.

Bike in excellent condition, oddjob2. I am so getting on mine and go for a ride after work today.
Sometimes, it is all I could do to keep myself sane and not buy more Ironmen.

Fair value Ironman are hard to find, particularly an Expert. This bike had been on the market for several months, but Toledo is mostly a Schwinn/MTB preference market. The seller recently raised his price by $20, but I figured if I didn't take his tires, tubes, and saddle, he would could knock $100 off the asking price without feeling beaten up. I end up changing tires anyway because 700 X 23's just don't do it for me.

Not so far, at least at my price point.

I gave one away about 4 months ago, '88 Master (Purple Haze).... I hope to see it at the Dairyland Dare. Poor guy is married to a beautiful girl, two beautiful kids, hard for him to justify another bike. I had to get involved, re-arrange his priorities, get the N+1 DNA recombinated...
You know, just trying to help......

thumbs to you for helping a brother out, Robbie. I would have a (really) hard time passing on my expert. Seems like this guy got his hands full, but hey, I would trade a bike or 2 for a beautiful wife and 2 kids.
Until then though, I will be stocking up.

Thought I'd go for a 20 minute ride and ended going for an hour. Very sweet ride. But the rear tire at 28mm barely clears the brake.

I've been keeping an eye out for another Miami Vice for myself, after giving one to a friend. Should anyone know of a 58cm frame waiting for a new rider I'd appreciate a heads up. Until then I'll keep looking at yours, then at all the parts I've stowed away until I have my own.
