Not sure about this but pretty sure you will never see one at this kind of price any time soon.

The nice thing is it's all there. I would have thought earlier with the wooden wheels but I'm no Schwinn guy.

Wood sprint rims were still popular on grass/dirt/board tracks into the '50s in England... Considering how far ahead they were than most Americans when it came to cycling trends right through the postwar era, I'm not surprised to see these at all on a bike from the '40s.

Agreed and if it is pre Paramount, it would be from before 37-8, question is if they made New Worlds and Pmounts at the same time, if not. this is from the early days of 6 day trials.

That's an order of magnitude more than i overpaid for mine (almost ten years ago?). Lucky for me i was able to unload it on a guy who was willing to overpay a bit more. It was from 1940 as well.
It may be set up like a track bike, but that doesn't make it a track bike. It's basically a TBSO. Heavy steel tubing, welded together with (lead?) solder added for that "fillet brazed" look, and the softest fork i have ever encountered. I have never seen one that didn't have a bent fork (except in photos).
