Yeah you'll definitely dig this then. I'm really keen to hear some stuff by the Broadways and Slapstick. Larry Arms and The Falcon is the only other related stuff I've heard.
Have you been digging Chuck Ragan's stuff? Tim Barry of Avail is doing some good **** too.

Has Chuck officially released anything yet? I've been waiting for it. I've seen the live stuff on youtube and love it.
Slapstick was an old ska/punk band with Dan Hanaway and Brendan Kelly both of which were in the Broadways with Chris. Broadways split into The Honor System and and Lawrence Arms. Dan Adriano (Alkaline Trio) was also in Slapstick.

I've loved Chuck's stuff he did in Rumbleseat, so safe to say I was pretty damn excited upon hearing his solo stuff.
Aves: He's doing the 7" club, with two tracks being released on a limited edition subscription-only 7" (subscriptions are sold out unfortunately, I missed out). You can get hold of them on a few torrent websites I believe. Great stuff. There are also some great live sets floating around.
In May he's doing a proper release of a live record, and then in August he's got an actual record coming out (on Red Scare I think, or maybe No Idea).
Really hanging out to get hold of Tim Barry's Rivanna Junction record, I think it's just out on LP at the moment. Gotta get me some of that action, 'cause the stuff on his myspace ( https://www.myspace.com/timbarryrva ) is amazing.
Thanks for the info on the Broadways/Slipstream stuff, I'll have to try get my hands on some.
Anyone heard the Nothington stuff? If you like these guys I reckon you'll love it.

totally. but i have to say that the new mwy is even better than that one.
oh and no snapcase release compares to progression. i don't care what you say.
my list:
------------------------------------
the flaming lips - at war with the mystics
the police - regatta de blanc
the denver gentlemen - introducing...
(the?) ignite - call on my brothers
how's that for variety?

And, as far as brother, sister being better than catch for us the foxes, maybe. Some of the tracks on brother, sister are phenomenal, but the filler tracks, while i like them, i think make it a bit hard to rate above catch for us the foxes.
mewithoutyou is one of the only redeeming products of christian theology i can think of. Sometimes I wonder how great they'd be if they didn't love jesus.
