Coldest I've ridden in was 8F, just this past winter. I cheat though...I have a velomobile that's mostly enclosed (it will be fully enclosed by next winter!).

Warmest I've ridden was well north of 120F. This was taken the summer of 2015, in the shade, on my back porch in Tucson right after I'd gotten back from a ~4 hr ride.

...then promptly jumped into the pool.

January 2004-ish, just outside Calgary, 20 miles at -15 F. August 2019 near Wichita, 45 miles at 95 F. Relatively new to cycling. As a runner did 6 miles at -50 F in Iqaluit. Did 8 miles at 105 F in Grand Cayman. I agree with the comments regarding heat being tougher than cold. You can dress for cold, but the heat is oppressive, and it’s hard to drink enough to keep up with the sweat rate in high heat.

hot & cold

Hottest - well over 120 during the "Hotter than Hell - 100" - I was either gonna finish the ride or die - that was my attitude as it was a century ride right after I hit the big 50 - I had been training for it in the Middle East for at least 4 months where the temps were steady at 120 but without the humidity...

Coldest - Germany - back in 1998 - it was around 5 degrees for a few weeks in a row & I always went to & from work on one of my beaters during the winter - simply because I refused to let anyone tell me it was too cold or too icy to ride...

winter side story - one morning heading in to work I was riding to work at zero dark thirty and had to go through an underpass and as I was coming out I ran over some black ice and the bike flipped out from under me - as I got up I noticed my helmet (with a flashing tail-light attached to the back side of it) sitting on the opposite side of the road - I put my hand to my head & realized that my helmet was still in place but the plastic covering had separated from it - so I picked up the plastic shell put it in my backpack & started to continue the ride - no sooner than I made the top of the hill I hit another patch of black ice & once again slammed into the pavement - at that point I said to myself - one more slam like that & I am calling it a day & heading to the house... that was on a Monday, before I had even started my work week...

hot & cold

I don't have an air temperature, but the radio was announcing a heat index of 122 degrees in Decorah, Iowa, RAGBRAI 2005. The asphalt was melting and sticking to our wheels. It took many hours to clean that gunk off the tires.

Coldest/hottest ride

Coldest was 2 day blizzard at 6000 feet out of Reno Nevada, snow flakes the shape and consistency of Styrofoam packing peanuts, only 5 vehicles on major interstate highway for all day. Froze my throat/lungs, would have hacking cough lading 20 minute, couldn't swallow any food but cream of mushroom soup (my ever present goto now) for a week.
Hottest, 106 degrees in May bicycling across Death Valley. Where I learned to love Gatorade:100°/95% humidity biking across Tennessee, water and nothing didn't help, bought Gatorade at farmers tiny store, it worked like magic.

I've ridden in temps as low as 32 F but when I do, I tend to get chilblains on my toes and fingers. I have ridden in temps above 100 F, but ride very early in the morning so I can avoid those temps.

Cold: -10F/-23C (air temp), courtesy of western Wisconsin. Only about 5 miles RT. I needed some groceries and took the trailer out

Hot: 112F/44C, courtesy of inland Orange County and the Santa Ana winds. Only 3.5 miles, as I got off work in the early afternoon and needed to commute home. I think that day still stands as the record high in Fullerton, CA.

Range: 122F...not bad eh?

Ugh, I'm a desert creature! Winter is the only time in those northern lands when I don't feel gross...

Went through Strava, January 1st 2018 temps were -4° to -11°F; then May 26th 2018 temps got up to 98°F. So a difference of 109°.

Coldest was 7 degrees (F) on an otherwise normal commute.

Hottest started at 114F in Chandler (just outside Phoenix), AZ. It cooled off to only 107F before I got back to my motel. We were worried it would top 117F that day, and screw up all the airlines for us trying to go home the next day.

All of my adult bike rides have been in this general Alpharetta area and with our mild climate my extremes are not so impressive. I had several 4°-6° F commutes several years ago, and a 102° weekend ride.

As a kid in West Texas, who knows. I remember one summer with temperatures 120+ but I don't recall if I ever rode a bike when it was that hot.

Ha ha. With the Velomobile, I ride in shirtsleeves, but with a ski jacket in the luggage so I won't freeze trying to cross the sidewalk without being rude to the kibitzers.

My lowest had been -30C riding home from work. To be honest such a temperature when biking is Mickey Mouse compared to when skiing and standing at such temperature at the top of a mountain and wind about to blow your head off. These winters we do not get much, -16C is already an event! The highest has been 42C in Xian, China, towards the Gobi desert. People would wait until the evening to get out, when the temperatures would drop to a comfortable 32C or so, but I had a tons of errands to do and rode barely rideable share city bikes in the middle of the day. The bike-temperature combination made it really rough. I.e. my range has been so far 72C=130F.
