All the photos I posted in this thread were taken by other folks.
This set of photos was taken on a solo trip and is light on any riding shots due to the difficulty of staging "action" shots and still covering ground efficiently.

Even on trips with other riders there is always some compromise between the quality and quantity of shot vs. moving forward at a rapid pace.
I like taking photos and appreciate them after the trip, but as the routes become more challenging you need to stay focused on the riding/pushing to achieve your goals in the limited time available.

My touring bike is a Surly Troll, it handles both the road and trail well. I wouldn't want to tackle technical singletrack with it but that is probably due to my skill level. The frame has plenty of braze ons and a versatile rear dropout. Good luck in your quest.

Currently building this up. The velo orange camargue as my off road touring. Has all the braze ons in the front fork. I plan to use it with velo orange front campeur rack, as well as backpacking style when I plan to go deeper into the woods. Frame is well built, and surprisingly light, but seems sturdy as it's got a gusset and made with thicker tubing.

29er front suspension touring bike? I wouldn't look any farther than a Surly Ogre with its suspension-corrected geometry. That'd be my choice if I hadn't decided on a 26" Disc Trucker.
