I guess they are all braggards born in the Facebook era that are only a few minutes away from getting their bikes and indentity stolen...
Yep, that's us.

If he didn't want to post his bikes that's cool but why the need to reference caring about his or ours?
Quite juvenile in my amateur opinion
Thanks for reading my post, and your comment. I think that when someone lists an oblique or obscure reference in their sig, it prompts more attention than the customary items of bikes and location.

I read @ jfowler's posts regularly, and have quoted and mentioned him in the past, so I was aware of his sig. I made no comment about the attitude expressed, but it was directed towards the question of the OP, “Why..?” I would consider the attitude expressed as curmudgeonly, or as they say on the Fifty-Plus Forum, “Get off my lawn.”

A few weeks ago I got a into a discussion about the lack of locations in a sig.

I’m slightly more peeved by subscribers who give “cutesy” or obscure locations

I must confess though, I have thought about listing my LOCATION as:

D’uh?

To illustrate, I quoted an especially nebulous Location by @Booger1

How can I stereotype without a location?

Do you have to post the bikes you actually own, or list the names of dream bikes you wished you owned?

Whenever I see a series of nested quotes, I think "it's Jim from 'Duh' again."
