Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

They've been building cycle lanes Islandwide for about 5 years. The best roads, least traffic, and club riding seems to be around the east side/ Changi airport area.

Cycling Maps and Bike Routes in and around Singapore

From second link...looks interesting, but I've not been there:

"Curious what Singapore looked like before the skyscrapers and modern architecture? Visit Granite Island.
The national park is like a trip into the past to 1960s Singapore, when people lived in simple villages and agriculture and fishing used to be the main sources of income.
The island can comfortably be explored by bike."

You could have a look here also...if you visit, they probably have route advice as well:

I like to take a bumboat over to Pulau Ubin from changi. Not much in the way of roads but heaps of bikes to rent, nice trails and cheap food and beer.

I look forward to seeing the Otto.
I'm bringing my new 25 HP Backus to install next to it's big brother.
And if I'm really lucky, I'll be riding my new Helix (ordered 2 years ago).

My friend there said that cycling in Singapore is fantastic, especially along East Coast Park or the scenic Marina Bay area. Enjoy the ride, and safe travels back to Sri Lanka in a couple of days!

Would love to visit Singapore one day! Would be curious to hear something about this trip. Started to read about the country a little and it looks like all the visitors need to do an arrival card https://sgarrivalcard.sg/ before entering the country. I was so sure that all the countries are over with the pandemic precautions, but the reality is different and some governments still take some measurements in order to prevent the spread of the disease.
