Seattle Bike Swap 2/23

Info here.

This will be my first year going. Any tips?

I have some stuff to sell too, but throwing down $40 or $50 for a spot seems like a lot considering the amount I have to sell. Is sharing space allowed?

Get there early for the best deals. Some of the best stuff is bought and sold between sellers before the doors open to the public.

You can share a space. I did that last year, three of us shared a space. You get two vendor passes with a space rental and more vendor passes can be purchased if you buy a space.

I'm going to try to make it, although I may have exhausted Mr. East Hill's goodwill to bikes by going to the NAHBS .

Bike Swapmeet

Where there a lot of clothes there last year or is it more parts and such? I have never been and am trying to decide if I should go to the swapmeet or expo.

The expo is lots of new bikes, and organizations, etc. You can get some decent deals on clothing at the expo.

I've never been to the swapmeet, so I think I will go to that one this year.

Oh, and welcome to BikeForums, hugglebug .

Hugglebug: Welcome to the forum. I'll ask before EH does. Do you have pictures of your bikes? We like pictures especially in the C+V section. If you like old bikes check it out. Hows that EH?

Excellent, and I'm giving you a thumbs up for that!

Stringbreaker, are you going to either one of these?

I'm not sure. If we can combine it with a trip to a quilting shop my wife will be happy to go, well maybe not real happy but if I go to the quilt shop with her she'll come to the bike thing with me

Bike Swap

I will have to take a couple pictures of my bikes today, where should I post them?
I have a KHS Flight 700 and a Kona Coiler

I'm new to road cycling so I am hoping to find some good deals at the swapmeet on clothing.
Thanks for welcoming me to the board, I am glad I found it

You can post them in the Pacific Northwesterners--Log in Here thread (that's in this forum), or the Road Cycling forum. Or, both .

EH: I'm not even sure I'll be able to go at all. My daughter turns 18 this week and there is a party either Saturday or Sunday so if its Sunday I think we will go. A couple of guys from my church are wanting to go too so I need to let them know if I'm going. My neice and my daughter have birthdays one day apart the 21st and the 22nd so my sister in law is having the party this year so its up in the air even now as to what day. I'd really like to go to see if I can find a decent Bianchi frame in my size in Celeste. Oh well if not I'm thinking a trip to recycled cycles is in the offing for next weekend.

Oh, that's tough having the family obligations all in one basket like that.

What time would you be going to Recycled Cycles? I've not been there before...hmmm.

We don't normally leave the house for anywhere on Saturday unless its for a bike ride till a least 11:00 AM I might be able to get the Mrs. mustered about 10:00 if I coax her a bit. Getting up at 4:15 every weekday like we do makes a little sleep in time very valuable to us.

Yes, I know what that's like in reverse (since I get off at 4.35 am ).

There will be lots of parts, clothing and complete bikes and frames for sale. The really good stuff goes early but there are usually lots of bargains. They aren't doing it this time but in years past, you could consign a bike for a minimal charge + a % of the selling price if it sold. This also got you an entry ticket so you could get in on the early deals. After a few hours, prices on remaining stuff gets slashed, sometimes drastically & you can haggle to your hearts content.

I am so busy with our new home, and its so far to Seattle now, that I will probably not go for the first time in years. Don
