Should I consider this 90's Colnago for $900?
Somewhat local to me, only picture I have right now.
What I can see:
lame seat post? Ugly stem with adapter, probably ugly bars. Perhaps the wrong fork? This not a sketchy sale, but the lady has moved on. In fact, she used the term "N-1". She will measure for me tonight.

Sounds like a nice mix of parts, but yeah, I wouldn't want to have to mess about with possibility of having to swap out the bars and stem on top of $900. After replacing these parts, then re-cabling and re-taping, you're easily out another $100 in parts/time.
Beautiful frame, though - it looks to have seen no abuse and little hard use. The other components are nothing to shake a stick at, either. I don't know how to value it, however, if I'm honest. I only have one bike with components of similar age/technology and I've never even considered what it might be worth. 90s Colnago frame in super shape = good money. But how good?

She used the phrase "n-1" to describe herself. I crossed the "n+1" bridge and blew it up behind me, a long time ago.

I usually would think $900 would be a realistic deal. The hideous stem/bar combo along with the cheapskate seat post has me thinking lower. The appropriate Campy seat post could cost you $100. Look at that freakin' spacer on the headset. Crazy. Was this originally a quill stem bike? If so, you will need the appropriate Cinelli bar/stem combo. I'd want to be at the $900 price point after I acquired the appropriate replacements.

To me, the replacement fork is the most worrisome.

Soooo, while were on this subject.....
Any opinions on, this has been for sale for $850, for two weeks in California.(100 miles from the ocean so I wonder why the lugs have rust, and why the guy wouldn't clean it up. Also, yet another fork replacement)
original owner, purchased 2001, had many different iterations over the years.

I wouldn’t necessarily consider that a replacement fork. I think you could get that one with the carbon fork. I personally like the steel fork better. I don’t really see the rust, but tiny spots on the chrome will clean up easily. I don’t think that price is completely out of line for a Master frame with some matching bits. Maybe you can get it for $750 if it’s been sitting for a while.

I have a C-95 same paint, Campy Record, straight fork. Good bike, not quite as much a rocket as my old Master, but good. The "entry level" thing originated from the original Colnago catalogue. IMO nothing entry level about it. Paint is fragile. $450 would be a steal; don't recall ever seeing one for more than about $1200. Quite rare as they only made them a couple of years.
