Pasadena to Solana Beach 6/12
For anyone interested, Pasadena to Solana Beach, 12 June leaving from the south end of parking lot K at the Rose Bowl, 7:00am roll time. This is a self supported ride, so be prepared for a long day. Return via AMTRAK.

Would love to go, but on June 12, I leave for San Francisco for a bike ride as well (San Jose to San Luis Obispo). Curious though, what is your planned route down to the coast? There are many ways, and many others to avoid. It sounds like the kind of ride I usually go on.

Across Pasadena and Temple City to the upper Lario bike path, over to the San Gabriel River bike path at Whittier Narrows, and down to PCH. Minimal traffic.
Several of your fellow SD and Oceanside inhabitants use to join in on some of the rides from the OC area down the coast. Wondering where they are?? And where's the OC contingent?? Dan, Mark, Jason, Matt, Frank, Volty, what are you guys doing these days??

I've been following the thread on the other board and might join you in south OC somewhere. I looked at the Amtrak and Metrolink sites but couldn't find anything convenient to Pasadena. It's still a month away though; plenty of time to make plans.

Living in Santa Ana, I'd be happy to meet up with you at MacArthur and PCH or some other point on PCH. Let me know if this will work and we can coordinate a meeting time.

Getting to Pasadena would be a hassle. You'd have to take MetroLink from one of the Amtrak stations. Just thought if anyone was interested down that way, they can join in route.
You're welcome to join in route UJA. Timing will be somewhat critical in order to make the train schedule for the return to L.A.. But as GP indicated, there's still plenty of time for planning.

The Metro Gold Line runs from Union Station to Pasadena, with service at about 20 minutes, on Sundays. Shouldn't be an issue there.

BUMP!
2 weeks to decide if you want to join in.
BTW; just checked, and RAAM teams will be departing Oceanside on the 12th @ 2pm.

I think I would if I was in that area. Those people deserve a good send off for what they're about to undertake. I'm sure you'll have a great time if you do. I'd like to make Oceanside by starting time, if possible, myself.

Might consider joining up somewhere in OC. I'll keep an eye on the thread.

If anyone wants a Q sheet or .GPX file, send me a PM and I'll get one to you. Looks like the Pacific Surfliner runs till late in the evening. LINK TO AMTRAK SCHEDULE
Be sure to bring valid current photo I.D. required for passing through the Marine Base, and return trip on Amtrak, if that is your plan. 6 day weather forecast looks good.
