Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Columbia Plateau Trail. It's a rail trail/state park here in Eastern WA. Best riden in the spring and brutally hot in the summer.

Just outside of Tampa. Boring scenery compared to those that live near mountains but that's all I have to work with.

eastern Hokkaido in Japan: a dedicated cycling road called "Okhotsk" that goes along the coast for 40 km or so. Used to be a railroad track. Was not too windy when we were there.
There are some big hills around here, just not in the photo, not on the sea coast. Rode one a couple days later which was about 800m.

This picture is a few months old, but haven't seen this thread in the front page recently to post it. It's not empty in this shot, but it was when I first saw it and was inclined to take the picture. Skyline Drive close to the Front Royal entrance (going back downhill).
