Trucker Annie's New LHT Build

Check out the 24 Feb entry of my blog to see Anna's new LHT.... Another trucker is born.

BTW - she is interested in selling the 55cm Novara Randonee frame/fork she swapped parts from - PM me if interested.

Nice looking, Vik.

Did you build it? Were there any frame alignment issues, since I recall that you had some problems with that when you put yours together?

What was wrong with the Novara frame?

Doesn't it use better tubing?

That is easily the nicest LHT I have seen. I didn't know it
was available in red. What parts did you use, esp the rack?

This is definately the best looking LHT I've ever seen. Almost makes me cancel my order for my new Trek 520!

Anyway, nice bike. Hope it rides as nice as it looks.

Probably nothing.

Is there really any tubing better for a touring bike than 'old skool' 4130 CroMoly?

DukeArcher, that's my baby! Here's a larger version of that image but be gentle on her, this was at the end of a 8200km tour.

Thanks for all the positive feedback. I'll pass it on to Anna. She built up the bike herself from her Randonee. There was nothing wrong with the Randonee, but several people she knows (including me) ride LHTs and the frame was free so she wanted to give it a shot. It also gave her an excuse to learn how to build up a bike. The rack is the stock rack from her Randonee - no brand marked on it.

My LHT has the badly misaligned brake posts. The warranty replacement I got (now Anna's bike) is a lot better, but the brake posts are still not 100%. Having said that I have put several 1000 kms on my LHT and it works fine so it isn't a huge deal, but don't get me started on quality control...lol...=)

Great looking bike - thanks for the pic. Dirty and beat up is good when it comes to touring bikes. Do you have a write up/blog of your tour?
