Bobridge's 90 k Break
Jack Bobridge wins the Australian National RR with a 90 km solo breakaway. He got into a 20 rider breakaway that put eight minutes on the peloton, then he and another rider broke away from that group, then at 90 k Bobridge dropped his companion and went on alone. The remains of the peloton chased but couldn't catch him, the peloton was disintegrating as it chased, lots of riders got shelled, only 15 riders of the initial 127 finished, it was hot and this early in the season, maybe lots of riders aren't in full racing form. Sounds like Bobridge rode very smartly, he talked about how he rode to a power target on the uphill then rested on the downhill, figuring that he'd put more time into the chasers on the climb than he'd lose on the descent.
What's the longest solo break you've seen?. Didn't Tony Martin almost pull off a 100 k solo break a couple years ago?
Oops, I'm terribly sorry about the spoiler title - it's the start of the season, I forgot the etiquette - won't happen again dear sirs.

Something like 3 min to second. There really wasn't a peloton left at the end.
