difference between specialized allez sport & Roubaix
Hello I currently have a specialized allez sport that I purchased 7 months ago when I got into riding a bike after losing over 50 pounds.
I have the opportunity to purchase a Specialized Roubaix at a great price I believe it's a 2010 or 2011 sl2 elite. I have not seen the bike personally but have looked at pictures. I do know it has the shimano 105 gearset along with the shimano wheelset. I am perfectly happy with the allez but am willing to try the Roubaix. I am currently training to do the hotter than hell in Wichita falls, tx in August.
Any suggestions comments would be great. thanks in advance.

Hello JagR,
For £2000 you'll get a mighty nice bike though and a wide choice too. Scott CR1, Cube Attempt GTC, Cannondale Synapse as well as the Roubaix.

First thing - make sure the bike is the right size.
After that...well, it's up to you. Personally, I would opt for a new bike rather than an older used one. But that's me.

The geometry of the Roubaix is a bit more relaxed than the Allez, which is closer to the Tarmac. That's the first thing. The Allez is a great bike and very well regarded, but so is the Roubaix. I do own a 2011 Roubaix SL2, originally with 5700. It's a very comfortable bike. If you're looking for something a bit different, the price is good, the bike is in good condition, why not go for it.
