Another. Clearly if I were there he would have cut another 1-2 sec on me gluing the number properly. Actually in this case - not really a joke.

Same place they usually are...
I am expecting this to change. He is much more marked with juniors, but we have not seen him with juniors lately. It seems Cat 1s/Pros let him go - the normal "...right, good luck, he's not going to hold that now, too early" except last time he lapped the field the 1st half of the race. He went early this time. Got AZ P1 champ last year going early... He is a world class TTer so letting him go is the mistake. He can hold that 28-29mph on his own.

I'm looking forward to the Sagan-McNulty battle in about 5 years. They are two different types of riders, but I still look forward, to it.

Wow, that's huge. Acevedo is world-class (sometimes), and he only had 8 seconds on Brandon!

That was an upset IMO. I mean that. We shall see how it pans out. Glad you are watching. I still don't think the USA has had this level of junior. The last times we had the dominant ones (Lance, Lemond) everyone else was slower.

Oh for sure. We have some guys in all fields (SDBC - Emerald Textiles). Looks like our man Logan did well (3rd) in the cat 2 TT with a 15:53, not too bad.

Brandon pretty much pulled the boys along in the TTT Nationals. Reports are he was very skilled and paying attention to how much power could be put out. We lost one fairly early and the group had to stay together. They messed up a turn and lost 15 sec. The junior gears were a huge issue as they had to mostly coast on the several downhills going 45mph.
TTT is a great sport. I hope it grows.

Gets off the plane in Europe, waits a day, wins Euro race. People may not remember when Lemond won his 1st Euro race it was a real big deal. They discuss Bandon in every language even when he is not there.

This is pretty cool, I'm going to subscribe for updates to this thread, let me know when he can be watched on TV. Even if it's just Euro coverage a lot of times I can get it live online.

Today Vaud - Brandon lost 3 min caught behind a crash. Won the afternoon TT. The best in the world were there. Very narrow win. 2 and 3 sec - then 20 more sec to 4th place.

Junior TT champion - X2. Won by about a min.
Actually the big deal was Curran winning the U23. But that is for another thread.

Axeon pretty much owned the U23 races so far. Although, I guess if you're making the best U23 team in the country, it would make sense that you dominate.
edit: The winner of the open TT was racing as a 3 last year (he beat me at Snelling) ... dude has grown a lot as a rider in the past year. No doubt, it helps to work at Specialized as an aero engineer and have the wind tunnel as an office.

I wish there was more U23 competition out there. When you are the only team and you recruit all the top talent, it gets a bit boring. I also think some of these kids would do better to just move to Europe and get on with it.
Like most things, some clearly can make it, some clearly can't and others...it depends. The later group need U23 teams.

That's a good argument for the necessity of U23... sort of like a bridge between being an elite junior or amateur and the big time.
