Front Suspension Lock not working. Please help me.

Hello friends:
I have a fork with front suspension lock on my hybrid bike with 28" wheels. But lock mechanism not working. It's lock button turning with click sounds but not locking fork. I'm not sure about brand of my fork but probably it's RST Neon. I I have 2 questions:
1) Why fork broke down?
2) How can I fix it?

Ok, but I'm in Oregon.. still can't see a thing

go with answer to #2 ... buy a new fork.. at $500 Air Oil forks are very nice...

Or just buy a rigid fork made to take the place of the suspension one.
they cost less.. about $75.
not including labor or the parts you buy to mate it to your bike.

go back in a shopping mode, rather than free advice mode.

bring your wallet.

I removed my lockout button yesterday. Button was broken but mechanism was good. I fixed it by baking soda and super glue but not tried it. I will mount fixed button to my bike. I hope it will work.
