Halloween ride in new cycling jersey
went out and did a bit over 10 miles wearing my new cycling jersey......https://www.strava.com/activities/4268545450 you could say I was dressed as "Betty the Bearded Lady"

Heck that jersey is something I wouldn’t wear but I still think it is cool. And you don’t care what others think so that makes it great.

I love riding, and being a fat bastard I love fun jerseys.. some not so polite, some stating my oath of enlistment has no expiration date, some just variations on the yellow smiley face, or Dr. Seuss themed.
If my jersey makes someone laugh that is my reward, and if they upset someone that also is my reward.
I have lost 60 pounds since I started riding in 2014, but thanks to the VA docs hosing things up I made my diabetes worse so now take insulin (since 2012).. but by riding I can keep my insulin dose down to 40 units a day which I can out exercise.
If my jersey makes someone laugh that is my reward, and if they upset someone that also is my reward.

I feel like I'm suited up for Halloween every time I'm wearing the usual lycra and spandex stuff. But despite being a native Texan, I've always felt like the urban cowboy cosplay affectation is just as silly. And as a 1970s veteran, the current fad of wearing camo uniforms everywhere seems pointless to me. So we all look equally silly in public.
I feel like I'm suited up for Halloween every time I'm wearing the usual lycra and spandex stuff. Living here in rural Eastern Oregon (desert) I don't have too much traffic when I do ride the roads, and don't have to worry about stop lights (just the occasional sign which new law says can be ignored by cyclists IF there is no traffic).
