No I don't live in Hiram, Georgia (see above explanation ) I live 5 or more miles from there. Interestingly enough, where I moved from in Ohio, I also lived 5 or more miles from Hiram, Ohio. Coincidence? You decide.

I live in an unincorporated area of the county. This means I live nowhere. This concept was unknown to me where i lived previously in Pennsylvania and Ohio. The entire state had a town, village, boro, borough or some sense of belonging. At least as far as I knew. In Georgia that is not the case. I have a zip code but live 5 or more miles from any incorporated area. Now, to answer your question.

I do not have an image of Hiram, but it's possible one exists with the Pennsylvania kin. Maybe you could lead an effort to have the nearby town erect a statute of its namesake? I would come to the dedication as a VIP.

I lived on the unincorporated hills for 16 years before we had to move here. We had county sheriff instead of p.d., usually no patrols. Private trash, no sewer system, county water and SCE for power, instead of LA DWP. We had natural gas but houses a little farther out of the city limit did not.
One good thing was the quiet No fireworks, ever, and no loud parties
Where I live now is about 200 yards inside the city.

Just got done with my ballot. In the past if a bunch are up on the chopping block I research the first 5 judges, then just give up on them. This time I simply searched every single judge and voted to give 'em the heave ho if they were appointed by Jan Brewer or Doug Ducey. Took about an hour. Whew.

We get to weigh in on Court of Appeals judges, though the number varies by county. In Maricopa County, the state’s most populous, there are six up for retention: Randall Howe, Paul McMurdie, James Morse Jr., Jennifer Perkins, Samuel Thumma and David Weinzweig.
Voters in Coconino, Maricopa, Pinal and Pima counties also must decide whether to retain Superior court judges:

- In Coconino County, there are two on the 2020 ballot.

Then I looked at a couple things - the water comes from a well, the heat is oil from a tank, the gas stove is propane, and the sewer is a septic system. That's a bit too much "independence" for me.
