Removing Logos from a Specialized Allez... Possible?
Hey all.
I have a 2015 Specialized Allez Comp. It has a black base with white Specialized logos and red/white pin striping.
My question is.. has anybody found a way to remove the pin striping from the bike? It would look so much better simply blacked out w/ white logos. The red is overkill!
It's not high-gloss, it's more of a matte/semi gloss.
*NOTE* I can see the lettering/pin striping is cracking. If I run my fingernail across it, you can hear the cracks buzz. However, to my finger tip it still feels fairly smooth. They don't seem to be just stickers.
If anyone that has this bike or a bike w/ a similar type of striping, please let me know if you've found a way to remove them! Thanks.
Here's a photo of the bike!

Are the decals on top of the clear coat, or under it? All I know about Specialized decals is that every time I’ve seen a friend’s helmet with that brand on it, it says Special ed as soon as they’re not looking...

Since i've posted this, I came up with an idea to try to use matte black vinyl to wrap the forks/back of the frame where the distracting red is.
I'll let ya'll know how it turns out.
But if anyone's got ideas to get rid of it (in case my wrap doesn't work) feel free to chime in!

I got a search page with several thumbnails of bikes for sale at various places.
Anyway, I once stripped the decals off a 1996 Trek. I used and exacto knife to dig them out from "UNDER" the clear coat. I did get them off but after I was kind of sorry as the bike had a bike TREK crater on each side of the downtube.

You know, that does make sense. So I will avoid this option!
I don't think there's any "clean" way to do it where it won't be noticeable.

If you are the original owner who purchased the bike from a shop, if you strip it you will void your warranty and Specialized does offer a lifetime warranty for the original owner purchased from an authorized dealer and they will support you. You might reach out to Specialized and see what they recommend if you are an original owner. They do have paint shops they would recommend that will not void your warranty.

They are hand pin striped? I didn't think anyone did that with bikes. Seems pretty time consuming for high production bikes.

You could strip down the clear coat with paint thinner or brake cleaner then once you get to the stickers use heat and then get it clear coated again. Definitely not a foolproof idea though
