After extensive testing, I have concluded that the fastest bikes are the ones not ridden by me.
(But orange ones are coolest)

"I'll SCHOOL YOU at this jawn, YO."
Which basically translates to:
Dear sir with whom I am having a disagreement, I believe that my plumage exceeds yours, and that should the two of us compete for the attentions of a noble lady, or should resolution of this disagreement provide for the foundation of hierarchical leadership within a social construct, I believe that my innate and developed abilities related to such resolution exceed your own, YO!

I have an orange bike, and I have a blue bike, so I am a self-professed expert on this subject.
If I'm on the blue one, clearly the thing that's slowing me down is I should have ridden the orange one. And vice versa.

1. Play on fellow forumite's sympathies about recent calamities that have caused financial distress. (Dead family pets work pretty well, IME).
2. Procure a free vintage road bike as a result.
3. Quickly turnaround and sell said bike for significant profit.
4.The key, IMHO is to limit your risk by having none of your own money in the transaction.

lol. I dont think a new bike is the solution! Theres a cycling group and on one ride they will leave people behind, so because they change the routes, you either learn to catch up or youre lost and find your way back to start!

I am not sure what the big deal is. In the past, I just brought out rusty and old stuff and asked "is this any good?". Usually, someone will bite and answer in a polite manner - "um, not really".

i don't ride long distance, heck i've only come close to a metric century, not a real one. Why wouldn't they just tell me to take it to c&v or road bike forum, because my wanting to know about the differences between modern and classic bikes for 30-40 mile rides isn't the purpose of their forum?
Or perhaps a better question, since i never got a straight answer on the ebikes in the touring forum debacle, when there is a bleed over between two realms, why is it so hard for people to just ignore the threads they have no interest in, and why do so many without stars next to their names insist on telling others where they are allowed to post? I mean, a quick glance at the first page of the forum shows at least three threads about ebay/cl postings (definitely current tech), a bike from the 2002s (not vintage, imo), a story about a handmade frame (there is a framebuilders forum), a thread about non-vintage mirrors (proably should go to a&s), and if i cared to read a few more, probably at least a couple that aren't wholly dedicated to c&v.
