Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

We have a lot of narrow, intermediate cross streets in my ‘hood.Contractor trucks often have problems.

I recognized the guy’s voice. His company has been doing work near me for at least a week. I’ve heard him when I’ve been on my deck. He has a very raspy voice. Unmistakable, and he curses a lot. I gave GEICO the name on the side of the truck and they called him pretty quickly. I don’t think he had a spare because he was trying to get a wrecker to come out. Interesting thing is that he pulled in front of someone’s garage door.

Of course, the Philly popo never showed.

That indicates some force. He must’ve been moving right along. Sorry this happened to you.

Elevation profile of the day. Didn't quite get to the top as there's still a bit of a snowfield up near there.

My window to ride this morning is now! For 1-1.5 hrs, with the baby monitor next to me on the trainer. Hopefully she stays asleep!

Should get a decently longer one in tomorrow, 3-4 hr. If I'm feeling better. Still have a slightly sore throat.

I didn't see it happen. I had just got home from a bus ride from downtown. My neighbor knocked on my door.

Lots of people drive away. I saw it happen a couple of years ago with another contractor. Feigned leaving a note but ended up not. I got his info and left a note on the damaged vehicle. The owner called me that evening and was able to identify the guy the next day. Texted me photos of the truck and the guy. He worked for a local outfit and was working outside a house near where the vehicle owner lived.
