Welcome to the forums. Link to OP's photo album: https://www.bikeforums.net/g/picture/15896826

1970s, entry level, ladies' 10 speeds do not bring good prices, especially from lesser known brands. Even in excellent condition and fully overhauled, this would be hard pressed to fetch $100. As it sits, it's a negligible value, garage sale bicycle. In the future, please post pictures taken from the drive, so that the drive train components are visible. This helps determine the level of bicycle and condition.

Yeah...

It depends a bit on where you are at. But, yes, somewhere around maybe $100 to $150 or so.

The 1970's bikes still make good commuter bikes, and could serve someone well.
Also College Bikes.

They are still viable bikes today, just not worth a lot.

Yours is a unique brand, which may help some.

There is a buyer's market and a seller's market. You have to find a place where the two meet.

If the bike hasn't been ridden for 30 years, or perhaps only taken out on occasion by grandkids, it could require a number of repairs to get it roadworthy. New tires? Lube?

Hard to say about the neighbor without knowing the complete situation.

Does he really WANT the bike to use?

There are also "Bike Flippers"... which will do all they can to get the bike for pennies... then turn around and mark it up by a bunch and try to resell (of course, with limits of what it will sell for as above).

Some of the "flippers" do a fair amount of work including a complete maintenance and new consumables. Others simply wash the bike and sell it on.

It hasn’t been ridden but it has been stored inside
the tire tread looks almost new but I didn’t look at the side walls for dry rot it has been hanging off the ground for almost all it’s life

OK, now that we've got a couple of extra pictures, I believe I have a bead on the manufacturer - Sekine. It appears to have the same bulge formed head tube used by Sekine and it would also explain the Made in Canada sticker. The serial number will tell us if it is, in fact, Sekine manufacture.

Assuming Sekine manufacture, it appears to be a rebranded SIA or the replacement RL-40. Being a Canadian manufactured Sekine would place it no older than 1973 but based on the reflector style, I'd move it into the late 1970s. The serial number will also help narrow down the date.

I had a Royal Knight and have sold it. The frame was made in Japan by Yamaguchi. The components dated from 1972. Mine had a cotter-pin crankset.

I have seen other Royal Knight bicycles and the frames from several manufacturers.

Your Royal Knight has decals similar to mine. It looks like your bicycle has a cotter-pin crankset. I think that I see a Made in Japan label on your bicycle's seat lug.

If you find a serial number, that can sometimes be used to determine frame manufacturer.
