Is this worth "two farts and a fiddle"?

It might be... I'm not sure of the exact model...
Initially I was thinking... way too small, a toddler trike. Now... I think it may work, but it is still on the cusp of being small.
Ahhh, that one has working Hand & Pedals

Anyway, it looks like it is a $1000 trike.
I think it is fitting somewhere between the AM-12 and AM-16 (small rear wheels, 16" front).
However, depending on the exact model, it is for a kid about 2-foot to 4-foot.
Depending on your kid's height, he may still be able to fit it, but my guess is that he is just at the maximum recommended size for that trike.
The seat adjusts back and forth along that square bottom tube, and presumably goes up and down.
With some adjustment, and perhaps extending the bottom tube or handlebar stem, perhaps you could get a year or two out of that trike. If you do too much hacking, you might destroy the resale value... or maybe not.
But, it might be a good interim trike until one gets something better.
I would also think that by age 13 or so, the kid might move up to a trike that would last him the rest of his teenage years. But, giving some time for growing might not be a bad idea.
That one does appear to be single speed. The small front wheel will help some. One could potentially install a 2-speed unicycle hub....

I am a bit worried about size, too. This youtube vid has a 9 year old on one of their trikes and the wheels are larger:

Bad news in Charlotte: CL post only accepts text and phone, but no listed #....
So, cheap buy off the table... BUT... that Trike company does discount/charity through the Physical Therapist, so will make enquiries in that way. Small sampling of staff indicates that we might could reach funding, at least partially, at our school.
Time to get PT and parents on board
slow_runner and cliffordk, not giving up on the Rutgers approach. And, if not for your help, don't think this would have gotten anywhere....
THANKS!
