Norcalmike,
Even though that headset has the funky grooves cut in them, a standard HS wrench and a an adjustable wrench will do the job. Smiles, MH

...you really need two for most of the original headsets. There was a guy who was custom cutting copies of the originals, from aluminum stock. But he seems to have disappeared.

Thanks for the heads up! I’ve got a couple of 600 projects in the wings...bought the double set...

This, a total impulse purchase. Oops, I think.
I don't even like brifters to begin with. I don't mind using them but can't stand the heavy look and with Shimano's the cables just ruin the lines of the bike for me.
I know, I'm old, and I'm a fogey. Get off my lawn. And yet I bought these. What was I thinking? I like, no, love my Serotta Colorado Legend CR 7 speed. Behind the Serottain the pic is my brifter bike, a Chesini Innovation. Love that one too. But satisfied. Enough brifting. Oh well, not the biggest mistake I ever made. In my defense I thought they would work on 7 speed Campagnolo, but the fine print says Shimano 8,9,10; Campy just 9&10. Or 5&6 of either. Weird, right?
WHY?
I already put Spinaci on it, as being period correct. Now I'm going to clutter this racing machine with these UGLY things? They look worse in person. With awkward little protrusions on the inside. Like Campy brifters but with added confusion.

Yesterday was a great day from the post office. I sent out the nylon washers from Campy/Superbe/Galli shift levers to a company that will source them for me. And mid day I received a Var model 45 pin spanner that is no longer in production (flea bay find). And in the evening post a box from Mel Pinto with a new set of Var cone wrenches, and a new pair of frame/fork alignment tools. The tool box is much happier today! Smiles, MH

Campy Brake Lever "Flanged Buyshi willing to do it on the and I"and
Thanks to Mad Honk (coincidentally author of the previous post), for having some hard to obtain parts custom manufactured. These "bushings/washers/spacers/shims" work on my early Campy and Galli brake levers, and probably others. Stops those levers from "rattling and jangling" while on the road, as well as giving a much "smoother" feel when braking. I got enough for my rides and some to donate to the "collective". He's got more, just ask.
Thanks Mad!
I apologise for the header, looks like "AI" took over!

I rec'd a much-anticipated OEM Trek Y-Foil in 54cm. Full DA7700, including the Easton-made DA seat post, an Adamo saddle, and Rolf Vector Pro wheels. Even had a blue Trek bottle cage that matched the paint (blue with red/silver/white letters).
My 56cm, though dialed in, now, could easily be a 54cm and fit even better. The 1cm TT difference was going to put me "right there." So, I opened up the large box, pulled everything out and, hmm, 59cm TT, 59cm ST. Measured 3x. Had a 120mm stem, 46cm bars. Made for a giant.
So, I text the seller, "dude, it's a 59cm." He's known me for years, knows I ride a 54, have a 56... I get back: "The guy I got it from said it was a 54cm and he's my size, as are you, so I figured it was a 54cm." Apparently, no test-ride, just a flip, because I know the seller and no way he could reach the pedals or bar. ...Doesn't matter, I'll sell it and put the DA7700 (which included the BB and a complete working Flight Deck head unit/harness, which is kinda cool) on something else.

I do not know the seller.
