what is this tire size, if not 700c?

I saw someone riding this bike on the Mup here in China.
So i went online and found it.
Online seller said the tire is "26 inch", "not 700c".
I measured the picture with a ruler...i assuming crank is 170mm...and sure enough, tire is definitely not 700c. By my calculation, the rim is roughly 566 mm.

my guess is it is either
  • ISO-559 (26'er) or
  • ISO-571 (650C).

Anyway, quite interesting to find a gravel roadbike that is not 700c...this is just what us short cyclists need.

ps. What is the buldge on the seat tube?

Gravel bikes that can run wider 650b wheelsets/tires aren't terribly uncommon. That said, looking at the frame/fork gaps on this bike, it looks like it's designed for typical ~40mm 700c, but they're running 650b. Why? I don't know. Reduced toe overlap?

This is apparently called a Raleigh TX800.
My gosh, they have butchered the Raleigh name for the China market even more than its been destroyed for the US market.

That bike is a hodgepodge of wtf, so it fits perfectly in that market.
Oh, and the taobao link I clicked on still hurts my eyes.

in the end, no idea what tires size that is. It doesnt really matter because the OP won't ride it regardless.

Raleigh Japan is still a beautiful thing, on the other hand:

Looks like links can't be shared for the site, one must manually type raleigh.jp in a browser.

Contrary to a thread somewhere on this site, 650b is pretty common nowadays. 26" isn't

I have 650b wheels for my Rayleigh gravel bike that came with 700c wheels. Lets me run wider tires.

As much as I dislike modern Crackandfail I gotta say that bike was way way way way way more high quality then this fake Raleigh thing (or maybe it is real and super terrible). I remember riding it once and just couldn't do the lefty fork, though the bike itself wasn't bad.

If you search google for "Raleigh TX8000 wheel size" (without the quotes), one of the first links is to this site comparing 650b to 700c:
https://www.raleigh.co.uk/gb/en/bike...s-700c-wheels/

I'm not sure, but maybe the person who owned the bike should be taken at face value and that it is indeed a 26" wheel.
I have an Omnium (cargo) bike. It is designed for a 700c rear wheel normally, but I have a 26" wheel on it (because that is what I wanted).
