Brake on my fixie, what do you guys think?

I was riding brake less today at a beach bike path. I am fairly new at it, but I have great maneuvering and control form riding my 6 speed for so long before.
Anyways, long story short, I ran over a puppy. There are three lanes, one for pedestrians and two for bikes going different ways. You always get ******** Rollerblade who have no control on the bike lane, or pedestrians who can't read going any way they want, but the biggest fear on paths are little kids and pets I think. They don't know any better.
The puppy ran straight for me, the owner didn't have a collar. it was like we were destined to hit. I tried to stop the pedal as hard as I could, but I couldn't, so I ran it over I quickly went to the side after I completely stopped.
Luckily the puppy was alive and well, and the owner (because he knew he was wrong) said there was no problem.
Lesson learned, I have decided to put front brakes on my track bike. Even if I had brakes, that puppy was still getting run over, but at least I could have slowed down and not hit it so hard.
What do you guys think of this tale?

kind of like how an avid smoker knows he will get cancer, but he doesn't believe it until the day he gets it.
the puppy was my cancer.

3/10... puppies add sympathy.

nice try, but if you're playing into peoples emotions, you better make it wordier and more believable.

that said, its one of the best trolls i've seen here in a while.

it doesnt matter if its true or not. its the pure intentions of writing it...

if it is true....cool story....what do you want people to say?

just because you're trolling doesnt make the story not true.

Ya he totally could be telling the truth, cuz some times on (legit) path's people walking their dog, im hauling balls, and I hope to god their dog doesnt make a sudden run at me, and I trip between the dogs leash from him and his owner.

So this one is CONFIRMED

I ran over an earth worm some time ago. Honest! I found it wrapped under my chainstay all dried up and hard. (Not rigor-motis. It looked like beef jerkie.)

I don't think this is really the time to bragging to us about your "great maneuvering and control."

My favorite part:

"You always get ******** Rollerblade who have no control on the bike lane"

ummm, excuse me, did any rollerbladers run over any puppies?

Some advice when encountering animals on the road: aim for the ass. By the time you get there, it should be out of your way and you'll go behind it instead of being on a collision course.

Some advice about riding on paths that are shared with 'bladers & pedestrians: SLOW DOWN!

Yeah, riding with pedestrians sucks, they wander aimlessly about and often change direction without looking.

They are just asking to get run over!

I used to live in Hawaii. One day I was riding in front of these 2 hot girls and a tiny, but really colorful bird flew literally right into the little space between my front tire and the road and I squashed him flat. I am a huge advocate of animal welfare, have donated money to the SPCA, and have worked with animals, but I just laughed at the sheer craziness of where the bird landed. The girls kinda freaked out and I was like WTF could I have done?

I'll be the one to say it and say that YOU ARE AN IDIOT FOR RIDING BRAKELESS IF YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO STOP

riding brakeless isn't a big deal...riding brakeless if you don't know how to slow down/stop IS
