Challenge: The car/vintage bike interface?

So here's my question, I'm aware that Schwinn made the Corvette/Chevrolet Corvette and Speedster/Porsche Speedster, were there other bike manufactures who did the same? Named a bicycle after a car?

50s-70s was a golden age in both vintage bikes/cars and Madison Avenue marketing of both.

Be interesting to see what others can come up with.

Schwinn was pretty much the king for this. Corvette, Jaguar, Hornet, Continental, Super Sport. Someone else made a Mercury. Shimano made derailleurs named Thunderbird GTO.

Was the Fiat Strada named after the Bianchi Strada, or vice-versa?

Non-C&V obvious example - Electra.

Pontiac/Raleigh Grand Prix

Spelling differences, but: Specialized Sirrus / Chrysler Cirrus ; Fuji Del Rey / Chevy Delray

Ricardo bicycles in Australia were originally Porsche's in the 70's. Porsche automotive obviously disagreed hence the name change.

Austro-Daimler Bergmeister:

A bit grander than the Puch Bergmeister bicycle, which is a neat ride itself.

This is great!

I volunteer at the LeMay car museum and will take the final list of names provided by posters next week and see just how many cars/matching bicycles we have in the collection.

I had a hunch that there was some overlap between the two manufactures but never realized how much.

Now did "Race in on Sunday, Sell it on Monday" work? During the bike boom? I know I see a lot of Centurion LeMans for sale at the usual places so did either the race or Steve McQueen's movie "LeMans" help. Man that would be one cool thing today to pull into the a vintage car gathering with a classic LeMans of both makes. Currently we have the actual "Bullitt" mustang used in the movie on display.

Thanks for the great response, keep it coming.

Kia/Giant Sedona

I had a Giant Sedona. I rode it to a car rental place, and they offered me a Kia Sedona to drive. The rental guy and I noticed.

In at least a handful of cases, the CCM bicycle model predates its automotive application..
