well I'm making some headway on the rebuild,it's a very slow process.Everything was frozen ,took me 3 days to free up the headset, got the freewheel off and cleaned, need to pickup new bearings for everything tomorrow. looks like I will be repainting as the paint is really badly chipped and scraped in many areas.I will match it as best I can. I also check to find new decals, they are quite expensive almost $50 for everything at H Lloyd Cycles any ideas there would be appreciated. I have a picture of my freewheel it shows a strange wear pattern but might still be ok.. thanks for the help everyone hope to have it finished in a couple more weeks....

Are there any corresponding marks on the "under dome" or the top of the inner body?
Check for any burrs which might protrude. If any are found, sand and file with a Dremel until smooth. Add new synthetic grease and new bearings and "Bob's your uncle!."
I don't think those marks will prove to be problematic. There is minimal wear on the sprocket teeth. The inner race looks to be in good shape. Please post a picture of the inner body, pawls and springs, and the race side of the retaining ring/outer race.
Great project!

It looks fine. Sand and smooth out any burrs on those other indents in the outer body and I think you will be fine.

From top to bottom:
Suntour Accushift 7 speed (will not easily fit on your CB unless you modify frame and rear hub).
Suntour ProCompe (a great substitute for your CB!!!, looks to be NOS or only light use, and worth your time to clean and service).
Unknown (can't read the script, but looks to have been well used, so keep as a spare)

the third gear block is ATOM brand, manufactured by Maillard of Incheville, France
there is a good possibility that its threads may be metric ("french") and likely too small to fit your hub
it could also be BSC thread, you would need to measure/test to determine which it is...
the worn cogs could generate a skipping problem with your drive chain, espcially the two smallest ones

You mention purchasing the bicycle used about 1970.
Am thinking that it looks like it might have been manufactured during the mid-1960's.
This would make it a Holdsworthy product.
In case you are interested there is a serial number database here for Claud Butler, Freddie Grubb and Holdsworth badged cycles:
Frame Serial Numbers
You may wish explore it to figure out where your bicycle fits in...

This is fantastic, I replied to the Weinmann thread, didn't realize it was THIS CB, great work!
I have been following along with this
Please don't put those Tektro's on this, like I said, we'll get you sorted at least with Dia Compe's if we have too.

I have the levers and the freewheel. I would be happy to share but you would have to join the for sale forum first. If you do join, I will list the components and give you first shot. I should add that I am not a greedy person. Many things have left my stash, free to BF members and I paid the shipping.
Those newer levers will stick out like a sore thumb, in my opinion. The big problem, for you, will be finding a set of hoods in good shape.
