If you don't mind taking off the front wheel, there are lots of quick release style clamps that'll work for a lot cheaper. A lot of truck beds have a little hook up by the cab, I'm not sure how to explain it, but it holds a 2x4 which you can bolt these clamps to.

^^ Yeah but that's why you have a pickup bed - - so you don't have to take the front wheel off to haul things. I like the simple design of that one; was thinking of welding up something like that myself. But two bills seems a bit stiff even for store-bought.

Right now I'm liking these (except mine aren't as heavy-duty):

. . . or tailgate pads.

I think I know what you mean in the bedliner. Mine has these square U rests on each side that fits a 2x4. But I never seen any type of bike rack for these 2x4 hook ups. I've search on line with no luck. I'm going to search again with more specifics to see what I find. If or anybody has a link to one of these types of bikeracks please post here.

Yes I find expensive $199.95 for a bike rack.

Thanks Jediphobic !

Yep, I would prefer not to be realeasing the front wheel each time I haul my bike.

You have a pick up truck? how do you use those straps?

My bedliner has these hook ups:

With the type of straps you posted I suposed will have no problem...

Yeah, with a rail setup, you've got it made. You set your anchors 'just right.'

Yes I have a pickup. That's actually a canoe bow strap I think - - but it's basically a cam-buckle motorcycle tiedown but with a loop at one end instead of another hook. I like that setup because you can loop the web loop over the bars and hook to your truck's cargo eyes. You can also use regular M/C tie-downs with a short double-loop so that you aren't putting the hook on your bars:

The ones I have are (I think) canoe straps with plastic snap-hooks at one end and loop at the other. Light duty but strong enough for a bicycle - - got them out of the clearance bin this spring at my local RIE.

can't you just lye the bikes in the back of your truck or just lean the on the sides? i usually just toss my bike in the back of my truck or my dads truck. no straps, no special rack. just toss it in and go.

I used to do that until I bent the mess outta my discs with 3 bikes in the bed. Now... OK i still do that, just more gently organized.
I just bought some fork clamps to attach to the toolbox, $12, no need for a bar. Don't mind poppin off front wheels.

Anyone have any recommendations for a bike rack (3-4 bikes) for a pickup with a tonneau cover?
