Looking for a touring frame 56-60cm

I'm down a couple bikes and looking for a touring frame to build up with spare parts over the winter. Here is my criteria and if anyone has something or can give me a lead on one I would be very appreciative.

56 to 60 cm size with cantilevers set for 27" wheels
I'm drawn to green bikes and would love to fine either a 1986 Schwinn Voyageur or green/ Fuji Series V or IV (not sure which came in that color) or Trek 520 in green. I have a Specialized Expedition and Miyata 1000 so rather than double on those any other decent mid 80's Japanese touring frame or full/partial build is fair game.

Thanks in advance. Since I retired at the start of the summer I haven't had much time to browse here but now I will catch up with the cold weather approaching.

You might want to post in the C&V sales section. Did any of the bikes listed come in green aside from the Voyageur? I think that might be the only one, unless you’re talking about the 520s from the 90’s.

As an 86 Voyageur owner myself I can confirm they are awesome. Someone I know has a 1987 520 and honestly it’s the best touring bike Trek made in the 80s after the 720 was discontinued. Reynolds 531 and mid fork eyelets which the 520s before it didn’t have. The wheelbase is long but it’s a little sportier than the 720, which is nice in most scenarios.

Thanks I'll post there too. I just thought I might find a few more eyes here. You are right about the Voyageur being an awesome bike. At one time I had both an 86 and 87 in my size. I liked the 86 frame details better but kept the 87 since I had modified some things on it. I kind of unexpectedly sold my 87 this summer and now I'm missing it.

Thanks @dedhed. The Kodiak has cantilevers like I want but its complete and I'm hoping to use up some of my spare parts on a build. All nice bikes though.

Well, golden boy is the local king of nice touring bikes, maybe he knows of a frame or partial build in the area.

1988 Fuji Saratoga in 58 cm

It's a teal green. It meets your criteria: 27" wheels, cantilevers, green, tourer... and according to the '88 Fuji catalog, it also came in 56 and 61 cm frames.

I have a 56 cm 85 Nishiki Cresta that I'm looking to sell. It is currently complete with a nice set of 27" wheels ( 36 hole Shimano 600 laced to Sun CR-18's) and an indexed 8 speed build. Might be open to breaking it up but the wheels should probably stay with it. PM me.

I don’t know of anything...

I think the 85 Fuji TS V is the most gorgeous dark teal color. The 91 Miyata 1000LT was a nice shade of green.

The Voyageur came with the ‘pine’ green in 86 and the 88 and 89 came in that sweet ‘emerald’ green.

Oh yeah the ‘91 1000 is beautiful! Guess he already has a 1000 though.

The above Cresta sounds like a good option, although not green.

Wasnt there a Gran Tourismo or Specialissima that came in green?

Very nice looking bike and teal bikes always look classy.

Well there must not be anything in SE WI if Dave doesn’t know of it😊. I totally agree on the Fuji color with the gold accents.

I've been watching this since forever. Probably worth the $300 he's asking, but I already have a 1000

Yeah I saw that one. Too big for me and I have a 1984. Agree it is worth what he’s asking.

56 to 60cm... that is a HUGE spread. Especially as many frames between these two sizes start to gallop in top tube length.
