A few weeks ago we were out for a ride before we headed home my wife Stoker called a head for a pick-up for her favorite Oola Bowl. As we were pulling away from the "Curbside" pick-up a local photographer for Downtown Lititz snapped this picture. We rarely get pictures with both of us as someone has to take the picture :-)

Once I get my ten posts (a newbie) I will post a picture of my wife and I on our first generation Trek Tandem (that converted to a Santana) and toured across the country pulling a 100lb trailer with her medical board books so she could study for the boards...used General Delivery USPS along the way for new books and to pitch the others. One of the best days was making the summit on Logan Pass in Glacier National Park, our last pass before venturing into the vast Plains!
The other Tandem picture I have is of my daughter and I commuting to school on our Kidztandem... stocker is in the front, captain in the back!
Oh, and our tandem pulling a tandem trail-a-bike!
All happy memories!
Stay tuned!

I finally got pictures of us on our tandem. First I let my kid and kid's wife ride it, and you can see them smiling pretty big on it.
Good thing I got them to shoot pictures of us, because now I can see the fit is not right. I'm too upright and need to lower the bars or move them forwards or something.
Here are the kid and kid-in-law.
Here are my spouse and I on the same bike.

Aboard our 1988? Burley Duet on a beautiful day in June. This is our first year riding a tandem, which was given to us(!) by a very generous couple we met on Tandem@Hobbes, and which we love. So much that we're thinking about getting a new one!

Please post some pictures of your Duet somewhere here. Great old bikes! Lovely to see one in use and being cherished.

It's a lovely bike. Not the speediest or nimblest, but we do get going pretty fast on it. We've taken it camping with 40lbs of gear and and it worked just fine. We drove it halfway across the country to NY and got up to 50 on a steep descent - again, just fine. It handles like a truck, in a good way. Big, comfy, and stable (and heavy).
We're thinking seriously about upgrading to a Ritchey Double Switchback, but it is a great bike and it got us to love tandeming. The stoker especially - she wasn't much of a cyclist before the tandem and she loves riding it. We plan to give it to another couple once we get the new one built up, just as it was given to us.

Very nice, thanks. I have done a lot of touring on single bikes over the years, would love to go on the tandem. Aiming to take my 10 y-o son out for a few overnighters during the Australian summer.

That was then, and this is now. We call the Cannondale "The Diesel" because of our aging motors and our reduced training miles.

Beautiful pictures in the Western Islands. We have toured them several times on the Ritchey Breakaway. The best people in the world live there. Makes me want to go again.
