Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Oh joy, oh rapture. Our 7 year old dishwasher has decided it doesn't want to drain. Not clogged, just doesn't even try.

Then again, when I was 7 I didn't want to wash dishes either, so I understand where it's coming from.

One of the older, independent motels there is a burnt out shell. Must have been a very big fire.

I imagine business has sucked for all the motels since about March.

Most of that stuff is treatable with behavioral therapy, so fear not and remember: seeking help is a sign of strength.

Took advantage of the ****ty weather and worked about 4 hours from home to make next week less miserable. (RIP Victor Hugo)
In other weather news, we have a tornado watch until 9 PM.

FEAR NOT! The awesome shovel is securely stored in a safe place.

I did a 3.5 hour ride with some people today and it was ok. My knee loosened up after an hour or so and my hip didn't hurt too much except when starting from a stop. The ribs bothered me more than I thought they would. Good time, though. So far, I'm glad I went.

kudos good to hear you are back in the saddle

in between working i tried to get a ride in during a short window of dry weather. Big fail. I got 30 minutes in before it started raining.

Edited to add:
No nap today. SMFH

Thanks! Weather here is nice, overcast today and comfortable but supposed to be over 100 by Tuesday. If I feel good tomorrow maybe I'll do some more climbing. Might as well overdo it.

With all of the political signage seen on my ride, it made me wonder why none of the (fancy) cycling apparel companies have put out a Bidon 2020 t-shirt.

I don’t think Geraint wants one.

Looks like they're not on the site anymore, must've been too controversial, crazy as that sounds

We're at the park, enjoying our (potentially) last picnic of the year. Up rolled a couple on a Ti Seven tandem with S&S couplers - super sweet bike. Chatted with the owner for a bit. Nice folks. Said the bike has been on some nice trips.

I'm in the market for a vegan protein powder. Care to tell me what it is? I have recently started a five gram per day spirulina thing. I'm feeling younger.
