Addiction LXXX

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Welp, I got another Vittoria Tactic wheelset in yesterday and it looks like it might be taped with tubeless tape already, but generic black tubeless tape. There is no mention of tubeless tape in the manual, however. I guess there's only one way to find out...

I like all the grime. Huge contrast to the fairly freshly painted and constantly cleaned historic unit we get to see running today.

Yes! I was trying to word a response like that so as not to denigrate Big Boy and the rest. You nailed it.

When I go out to eat weed, I dress in a full face mask and earmuffs. Today(I finished the immediate have to stuff) I had those mango mosquitoes up inside the face shield. Not looking for blood, fortunately, but rather escape. But still.

I have no prior experience with mosquitoes this big. I don't know whether or not they are disease vectors. Even at 2 PM, there were walls of them out there. I might have to hold off on getting back to riding. I won't survive the walk from the house to the street

I hope I reached him. Not sure.
Maybe someone can reach me. I swear I'm the worst. I've ridden chains until the rollers split and fall off leaving just the pin,(more than once). I was in the mountains and my chain started making noise. I was in a hurry to get down so I didn't even stop to look at it. Seems one of the plates had come off one side and was just swinging along, luckily I didn't put the power down.
Many times I just wait until everything is trashed and replace it all at once. I'm sure all my bikes could use a freshening up right now.

I haven’t been to 41 for ages. I think I must have convinced myself that the 41 doesn’t exist.

It’s a free country. That said, I replace my chains when elongated by around .75%, I get about 4K miles per chain, can get a cassette to last about 4 chains ie 16K miles and chainrings last forever at least 40k miles that way.

I was walking down the hall this afternoon and a guy coming the other way says, "You look so serious."

Imagine if he'd seen me on a bicycle! #SeriousCyclist

Bought a head lamp like two weeks ago to work on the yard at night, just so happens when I ride in the morning it’s super dark now. Strange. Anyways, the head lamp eats some batteries. It only last about five hours, kind of disappointed, my rear light takes triple As as well and I only switch those batteries out once a year.

Last year my wife and I went to Riot Fest in Chicago.

The Hu had just started their set when we walked in the gates, and we made a beeline to the stage to figure out what band was playing. Definitely a pleasant surprise
