I'm just starting to feel good about not picking Gaviria, so maybe he jumps in for second. If he can hang with the argy bargy from Sagan on Demare's wheel.

Time for one or two of the Israeli boys to make a showing, too. Perhaps Barbier will produce for me just to really ice any chance of that Maglia Nera.

could be a bit of a wait...barbier was a non-starter for stage nine...stomach issues.

https://www.cyclingnews.com/races/gi...9/live-report/

it's buried nearish the top just before the ineos tweet with pic. curious...it's not listed in the usual spot of dns/dns/dq/etc area at the bottom of the day's stage placings.

got a little bored so started checking out the vuelta stage profiles (starts in a week!!). looks pretty lean for the sprinters and only one tt with a helluva sting in the tail.
can you say climbfest? that is if the race actually proceeds...

I could barely keep up with all the sunk cost reasoning I had to do to field the Classics Squad and budget my dwindling picks. When I saw la Vuelta starts on el martes (żWTF?) I figured I'd catch my breath and, hopefully, expel some bad Giro air. Third time will be the charm, for me and GTs this year.

I'm guessing Ewan won't be entered.

I expect he'll lose some ground in Stage 12. I picked DeGendt, Sagan and Bodnar for a reason. Maybe even Visconti will get in on the action.

you're looking pretty good for the stretch run as you've still got a complete (i think) team. unless there are a few more monkey wrenches thrown into the proceedings, thinking you'll
enact the (hopefully) bloodless coup and usurp the velogames crown on stage 15...maybe beforehand but hoping to hold you off till then. i'll claim a previously undisclosed tue.
i got bleep for the last week/mtns except for the tt's...i'm okay. matthews going out was the dagger for me.

Not counting any chickens. You're still in front and MTB can't be ruled out. ...and there's always the virus, and bidons and overzealous commisaires, and ...

yeah MTB is worrisome but you're in the adjacent chamber. counted the cluckers, subtracted the eggs that the coyotes/ineos poached, converted kms to miles and came up with a tenuous grasp on the giro scepter. not my face please.

i distanced mine self from the act iii, scene i "et tu, brutč" imbroglio...principally because there were no vids that concisely brought the booze to the party. but i'm watching you, cassius and brutus...

That's expecting a lot from the Tourminator. But he's producing a lot.

I think someone from Ineos gets in the mix. But I'm having a tough time remembering who is left so can't put my finger on one in particular.

Ganna is resting up for the TT and Demare for #5 tomorrow. Both of whom have less points than that little tinker Sagan.

démare has stages 13 and 19 to target. that means sagan finishes second at least twice. hoping for a nice showing (but not too good) from tgh in the last week.

thinking ganna might be let loose more than we suspect. he's already got an unanticipated stage win along with a tt win...ineos is a mess currently. why not throw the boys out there and see what they can do?

I think Ganna's free to ride but conserving for Saturday's TT. Perhaps Castroviejo, too.

The Cycling Mole tips Ben Swift as the pick of the day, but I foolishly favor Puccio or Narvaez. Because I'm such a muse. Swifty had a good run the other day.

Speaking of Ulissi...

UAE – here’s a message to Diego Ulissi, stop being a cry baby. Instead of moaning when riders cover your move, earn your right to be in the bloody break. Getting away from the bunch won’t be gifted to you, you need to ride! If Ulissi continues to have issues, they’ll look towards Conti or Bjerg.

Never write off someone merely because their parents have challenges with spelling.

Zdenek Stybar approves of this message.

If you haven't run into "Clinton deploys vowels to Bosnia" on either the Onion or the Car Talk guys reading and laughing about it, it is worth the search. Unfortunately, my Google Fu just now only turned up this.

I've been in spreadsheets all day and on my second finger of bourbon, so could use a laugh and just want to let you know I love all of you guys and any stealth gals who frequent our field of battle and comradery.
