I am looking to get an approximate value and year range of an older Bob Jackson 12 speed that belonged to a deceased friend family. They are selling off the estate items themselves and aren’t sure what it’s worth. Any approximate value or range would be appreciated. I just joined so I can’t post pictures so I will try to be as descriptive as possible.

Frame is white with red on the stem area and seat post tube. The handlebars are buckhorn style with Mafac break handles going to Mafac Racer brakes. It has bar end Campagnolo shifters that go to a 2 sprocket TA Specilties crankset and a 6 speed unknown hub. Both shifters are also Campagnolo. The stem says Record with mm85 and has an Olympic sticker on it and the handlebars. The seat looks to be leather and is embossed with Ideale 88 with a serial number on back. It has a Campagnolo water bottle holder and chrome bike pump that attaches to the frame. The quick releases on front and back also say Campagnolo. The front hub is Mallard and the rear says. IL. Pedals are Milremo with matching toe clips and leather straps.

The paint is in decent shape. Looks like it has red accents at the places where the tunes meet. The serial number is a 4 digit starting with a 9 on the bottom. It worked years ago and has wear but not broken at all. Also has some tools like a TA sprocket tool etc.

Any info would be appreciated. I’ve seen other posters putting the area and this one is near Austin Texas.

...these were sold mostly as frame and fork, to build up as the new owner saw fit. Good examples here in NorCal (often with full Campy New Record components) usually list on the local Craigslist for $600-1000. Lately, some of the better stuff in excellent condition has been asking for a little more than that. Not sure what they actually sell for at the close of the deal.

,,,the one photo of the entire bike makes it look pretty clean and reasonably well cared for.
Most people no longer want to deal with tubular tyres and rims, which I think those probably are.

So in general, the frame looks good, which is maybe +$200 on CL, the tubular wheels thing is probably -$150.
The rest of the components are a nice selection of functional stuff, but a wash on pricing.

Those are exceptionally comfortable saddles, but I can't judge the condition of the leather from a photo.

I would say someone in San Francisco might be able to sell that fir $700-800 even if it needs a complete servicing, new chain, new rubber, etc.
I'd try to offer about $600 because of the wheel rebuild I would be forced to do. I won't ride tubulars. But there are plenty of people who do.

This is all California money, I don't have any understanding of pricing where you live.

...to me, it looks like a bike that was built up by a guy who knew what worked, and what he liked best as a result. Thus the MAFAC center pull brakes, the saddle, and the TA crank. It's a nice riding frame, in the UK tradition of bespoke makers.

Those are nice bikes and that one needs cleaning up , but appears to be in good shape. The low end would be $500-$600 and maybe considerably more with some sprucing up. Bob Jackson is closing shop probably by the end of the year which could have a positive effect . They have always been sought after as a great light weight English bike and are very well made.
